Wendy Merrill of Sausalito has written a memoir, Falling Into Manholes, about her years struggling with booze, anorexia, bulimia and bad choices in men a tailspin triggered at age 16 by her mother s suicide.

Sounds like a good book to avoid, unless you ar a typical Marin woman on several anti depressants or anti anxiety drugs and wants to feel better by reading about someone even more screwed up than they feel they are.

What is it with the first comment on so many articles here being negative? Do people have nothing better to do that hang out in the IJ forums waiting to pounce on something (or someone) they deem stereotypically "Marin"?

Despite the fact that I'm in the minority with my beliefs in this county, I appreciate that this is a place where people are willing to be transparent and are searching for truth and meaning. If they get a book deal in the process, more power to them.
