Re "racism" and the origins of the word.

"Racism" was a term invented by the discredited anthropologist Franz Boas to explain the seemingly unreconciled differences in cultural achievement among different races.
It's a convenient scarlet letter that stops all debate and is supposed to act as a one word philosophy that backstops an entire line of reasoning that supposedly you possess but are not required to articulate because using the word fills in the blanks for you.
You can analogize it to the word "communists!" that was applied to anyone who discussed the need to address social issues and tried to identify problems in society. The users of the word are hiding behind it and are unwilling to truly debate social issues and facts.
People that use the word "racist" or "racism" are intellectual cowards who invoke and hurl this magic phrase instead of actually engaging in meaningful debate.
As though applying a one word description to the categorization of something makes the differences between categories irrelevant.

Hey Jackson, You're a racist. Look it up in the dictionary. It's perfectly clear that Marin is full of them!

You're so busy putting down the "illegals" with no regard for human decency or compassion. Having illegal immigrants is something that the we created and benefit from. Illegal isn't even the issue for you guys, it's really just a guise to hide behind while being racist towards any latin person, legally here or not.

You remind me of the religious freaks I knew as a kid that said the word "wine" in the bible actually means grape juice and therefore no one should drink alcohol.

So how many vaccinations will the next few clinics have? My guess is not enough to last the scheduled time either. I think people are falling into the fear factor of the swine flu, yes it is dangerous but it is like the flu. Wash your hands wash your hands wash your hands.

Racism is the belief that another race is inferior to your own.

I care not which race is here illegally. Our policies continue to encourage illegal immigration. It seems logical to limit the clinics to English speaking (or with a English speaking friend), legal, Marin residents. But NO, there are so many illegals, they can't even check for county residency.

One thing is for sure, the H1N1 is deadlier to children than the seasonal flu. On average 46 to 88 children die annually, so far since April 540 children have died, maybe more now since that statistic is a few days old. The flu season isn't in full swing yet. It's time to take the H1N1 threat as valid, especially for the young and those that have health issues.

Thanks for this, for a minute I thought you were a racist, but now I know that you just abhor people that are different than you... xenophobe is the word that begins to describe your tendencies. No matter what word describes you best, you are still a blithering idiot. For now I'll use the term KKKIST to describe your type. Cute huh?

I am not a racist. People can't help it if they come from an inferior race.
The fact is they are here illegally and should not be getting swine shots the tax paying citizens paid for.

I pay taxes and was in that line with no health insurance. I am not sure why the people in that line who had physicians or Kaiser were there.
It was well organized and the line moved quickly. I waited only from 8:15 to 10:30. Thank you to all the people working and volunteering there for doing such a great job.

Ah yes, keep hitting the bong of truth! Your ability to be rational and sensible about this is impossible. An easy and shallow argument to bring up the "racist" comment. You're no better than people like Sharpton, Jackson, Farrakorn. Their divisiveness is why there is a wall between the races. I don't believe anyone here can have an intelligent conversation with you, good day.

Hey,

I notice Jim is posting from Clovis or Sanger where the prison is.
Get busted by the facist pigs Jim?

Talk to us about "racism" after being locked up with "your friends" for a couple of years. Sentences under a year are served in county jail.

An Arab, Frenchman, American and a Mexican are riding down the highway. The Arab picks up an AK-47. He shoots a couple of rounds and then throws the gun out the window. The American asks him why he through the gun out the window and the Arab says they have so many of those where he is from he doesn't care about what happens to them.

The Frenchman picks up a bottle of wine and drinks a little and throws it out the window. The American asks him why he tossed it. The Frenchman says they have so much of it where he is from he doesn't care what happens to it.

The American picks up the Mexican and throws him out the window

I'm neither a Republican, nor "Poor"

While I don't drive a flashy SUV, have 2 houses, or the like wealth is what You make of it.

There's really nothing I want, nor "have to have" like the majority of Folks these day, but I would like to see this Country get it's poop in a group, and get rid of the illegals, and put Americans back to work.

$30 an hour? I'd work for free if I knew it was for a good purpose.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Virgo

If something is weighing on your mind it will start to affect your health, Virgo. It might make you feel tired or depressed, or it could dominate your thoughts. You know what you should do about it, of course, but it seems like too much effort or you want to pretend that it doesn't exist. Unfortunately, this escapist attitude won't make the problem go away and might even make it more tricky by the time you finally decide to tackle it.
