Just an observation on bail requirements in Marin County, March, 2008.

Accused of killing one or possible two dogs:
"Corrasco, who is being held in at the county jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, was arraigned in Marin Superior Court on Friday on charges of animal cruelty, theft, theft of dogs and damaging a telephone line."

Accused of killing a motorcyclist and maiming another:
"The suspected driver, Mauro Fabrizio Iaconi of Bolinas, was scheduled to appear in court Thursday to learn whether he will face manslaughter and related charges. Iaconi, a 44-year-old carpenter, was arrested early Wednesday after a police search of more than six hours. He was booked into county jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run causing injury or death, with bail set at $50,000."

The only race that is being discriminated against here is the Canine Race.

Josefe Maria Corrasco you are a cruel and heartless self-absorbed person of the Human Race. If he really had concern for the little dogs, he would have called the Marin Humane Society. They could have helped solve any problems.

Perry Mason, you are no Perry Mason. Your comment can only be described as disingenuous at best.

that's not fair...i'm a dog lover, but you don't even know if the guy is innocent or not! some old people can be extreme liars because they grow old and bitter. he may have really given the dog away...who knows. there isn't any proof and he shouldn't be jailed for it.

Innuendo,
I am sorry but Perry is out of the office for the rest of the week, but he did want me to let you know the following and wish you all the best in your dogged pursuit of Truth, Justice, and the Canine Way.
"When Iaconi was arrested early last Wednesday, his bail was set at $50,000, then raised by authorities to $500,000. On Tuesday, prosecutor A.J. Brady asked Judge John Sutro to raise the bail even higher because Iaconi could pose a flight risk and a threat to public safety. Sutro hiked the bail to $1 million, all but assuring Iaconi would stay in jail until the case is adjudicated."
