I have to assume that these people who are making these outrageous comments haven't actually seen a mother who is breastfeeding. My daughter is breastfeeding her second child and does so in public when necessary. Most of the time she goes to specially secluded rooms intended for mothers who are breastfeeding. If that is not possible, she has cover-ups she uses so that everything is covered up, including the baby. Now if you people have a problem with that, then all I can say is you are the one who has a problem. God created mothers in a way so as to nurse their babies, not stick a filthy piece of rubber in their mouth for milk. Besides, the mothers we have seen when my daughter is nursing are all discreet and decent about it. More women are nursing all the time since they are learning the benefits of it and these women also have a closer bond with their children.

How many moms out there are really going to pull their tits out in plain view of everyone

this is an intimate act between mother and child should be done privately

this is something that should be done in inconspicuous fashion if it needs to be done in public

even when my daughter was breast-feeding my granddaughter

I saw what was going on and left the room

I'm not going to be staring at my daughters tits

<quoted text>killeenmom...and what type of an emergency would that be??. Just so you know, in case of an emergency where the baby gets hungry...there are option, the baby can always waite till the mother is done shopping or done making stops at the bank. One missed breastmilk is not gonna kill the baby at all. There are bathrooms for those types of accomodations where she can breastfeed her child and wouldn't be in the way of other store shopper customers. If its anyone who needs to the most accomodations are the mentally handicapp or the elderlys. Why should we accomodate some rude, inconsiderate, impolite, selfish, immature breastfeeding mother when in public establisments. When your either in a grocery store, shopping mall, bank, restaurant or a privately owned public transportation service like an airline company, how hard is it for any lazy breastfeeding mother to just walk within three feet away to the bathroom to breastfeed. To me this is down right irresponsible. How hard is it to prepare bottled pumped breastmilk ahead of time in advanced the day before your big excursions or even two hours before your excursion. Is it really that hard for most breastfeeding mothers to just accomodate there ownselves??. I mean come on no excuses, breastfeeding is not a race, a gender, a religion or a nationality. Breastfeeding is a behaviour that can be controlled within the mature responsibilitys of that individual and should not be a showoff spectator sport as a protesting
Sean -- you're not very smart are you? I revoke YOUR conservative status, as a member of the U.S. military I feel I have full right to. It's nuts like you who make sane republicans (you know ones who base their political status on actual politics and not outdated morals, ideas, and religions)like myself look bad. Go jump off a bridge and take your high horse with you. I'm actually probably not even the type to BF period, but nobody is going to tell me how and when to feed my child and return I am going to extend the same courtesy to these wonderful mothers who are just trying to do the best for their child.

As a Conservative that i am, i would love to see public breastfeeding be prohibited in all 50 states. Mothers should learn to not bring it out in public an order to disrespect other peoples feelings and compforts due to this SELFISH immature behaviour. I mean whats so hard to prepare a bottle with pumped breastmilk a head of time before planning your excursions
Sean, obviously you do not have kids or yourself have never breast fed. It can be very difficult to pump and maintain demand and the majority f breast feeding Moms are more concerned with the health of their child than your immature outlook. Grow up... If you don't want to see it ... DON'T LOOK!

Thank goodness that close minded people like that are becoming the minority. And hopefully they aren't reproducing, so their stupidity and idiocy will remain completely with them, and not be turned loose upon the unsuspecting public.

I am very pro-breastfeeding, anywhere and everywhere!

I am offended by your comment towards those who have not breastfed their children. The bond is not any closer between mothers who breastfeed or bottle feed. In fact, the bonds during feeding can include dad with the bottle. Having breastfed all of my children, I never had to feed in public....not once. I didn't not want to lug my newborn out in public although I see quite a few thoughtless women doing so. Most women pump because they work or may take some time away from baby from time to time. Women who feel they have to feed in public are mostly lazy, tacky and selfish. They care little about those who may not share their ideas and therefore say fk you to those who are uncomfortable. There is now an entire generation of selfish thoughtless women who push their rights down everyone's throats. The fat Dawn Holland is a perfect example of crude selfish thoughtlessness. Her almost two kid didn't HAVE to breastfeed during the short time they would be dining. The kid was old enough to drink from a cup and eat a snack in a high chair.

After 18 months...the kid should be weaned. The medical benefit beyond that in the United States is bogus.

It is unfortunate so many women take on such a militant persona when the act of breastfeeding is such a nurturing and loving act. There is no reason in the world anyone has to offend another unless of course they don't care or they enjoy upsetting others. Having healthy children involves many things and breastfeeding is only one part of the puzzle. I very much enjoyed this special time in private. If baby got cranky regardless of the reason, we would leave a public place because it is inconsiderate to others. Errands could be planned around feeding time and in the event I got in a pinch, I had a bottle of expressed milk. Most of the time, I could feed in dressing rooms, mommy rooms or the car. I preferred the car because I never liked exposing baby to the germs in nursing stations. Everyone has their own ideas on what is polite and proper and you should respect that. Your children will notice dirty looks and nasty comments about you, if you are rude and combative. Do you think that is healthy for your children? I think not.

Breastfeeding is best for many reasons but I don't think the conflict it causes isn't worth the price it has on the kids. It's so much easier to plan ahead and be organized. The militant who brings her toddler to a restaurant and offends patrons enough for them to complain to the manager is bringing on a lot of stress on that kid. Holland was clearly too ignorant to understand the toll it takes on the kids she chooses to exploit.

My step sister does it in front of me, but no one else, and some times have me get her breast milk flowing bc her boob's are too big for her baby to teet, at first I felt funny, but now look forward to it, some times it squirts in my mouth, I'll keep sucking and swallowing it, can't help not to, taste so yummy.

You poor misguided puppy. The females breasts are not sex organs, and has nothing to do with reproduction. A woman without breasts, can conceive, and bear children. You have an issue with a mother breastfeeding in public, but you wouldn't have one with that same mother bottle feeding her baby. So, it is you, in your twisted little mind, that have equated the woman's breast with a sex organ, and an object of lust, when, in fact, it isn't, and was never intended, by God, or nature, to be one. Get over yourself.
