Excellent idea to inspire young children to finish public schooling and to go forward with college (higher education) but I feel they should not only focus on children from other countries this country should come first to inspire American children . I see nothing wrong with helping other children from other lands but the children of this country should come first , America is to busy worrying about others instead of their own ,a reality while Americans reside in other lands their society does not go out of it's way or put money to help American children and this is a fact , I have lived in several countries studying I know this first handed !
But on the other hand this is a good thing to install in a child's mind at a very young age

Great story! It's nice to see college students giving back, and the kids seem so inspired and intrigued!

The program does in fact have "American" children. The article just happened to focus on two children from African countries. There are Caucasian, African-American and Mexican children, among others.

The program is wonderful, and yes is does have "American" children too. My son has been going all school year and it has been a great experience for him.
