I just love this concept of "real jobs." What on earth does that mean? Sounds like a way to discount the experience of otherwise qualified people.

Whenever business people are nominated, people on here rant against how they ran their businesses. The real solution to this problem isn't wards or any of that nonsense. It's special elections to fill vacancies and elimination of the appointment process altogether. That requires a change to the City Charter. That should be the focus of those who are annoyed by the current process.
