Has anyone eaten at the new HEAT restaurant formerly located where JT's BBQ use to be? I would like to tell anyone reading this that the food was HORRIBLE, service was ok, but the place looked and felt dirty. I post this as a warning to all would be customers--- DON'T GO THERE! We ordered 3 meals and the only thing good was the buffalo chicken tenders on the appetizer menu. My son ordered 1/2 a rack of ribs ( what the menu has listed) He got 3 huge beef ribs burnt to a crisp. When I complained to the waitress, she pretty much ignored my complaint and said the ribs were equivalent to a half rack of ribs....3 burnt ribs are not equal to a half rack of ribs. The restaurant never offered to take them back to the kitchen nor refund my money $13.95 for that meal. all I have to say is....TOURISTS BEWARE and locals eat at your own risk. I place my bet that the place is closed by December. No JOke.

Tonawanda, NY, huh. That tells me that you're only used to the fine dining experiences of what Bourdain calls "TGYMcFunster's". I would suggest that you stay with what you know.

Mary,
I've been to Heat a half dozen times and each time was better than the last. Their pizza is far and away the best in the region. Chewy crust crispy on the bottom from the wood-fired oven. Big choice of toppings, sides, and beverages. Excellent chili. I'm sure they will be around a long time, judging by their growing crowd. You must have some really swanky restaurants in Tonawanda, but in these parts we go to restaurants for the food. I'm sure that they didn't "offer" to take back your ribs because you had eaten most of them and probably gave them that superior NY attitude.

I'm from belmont,nh and had pizza there on friday as we are allways looking for good pizza like we had in boston. well the pizza wasn't very good pretty much no taste and I would have been better off with a frozen pizza like mystic pizza or even a uno's pizza. the crust was good but the cheese and tom sauce were blah. so for now I will get my new york flying pizza over the internet even though it costs a lot I know its great ever time I get it

I live in Gilford NH--Not Tonawanda NY????. We complained about the charcoal burned ribs (all 3 of them) as soon as the food was brought to the table. The waitress said "3 ribs were an equivalent portion size" to babyback ribs. She suggested that my son try to eat them. He did try to eat one- when she came back to the table and I told her he couldn't eat the ribs--she shrugged her shoulders and said something like next time I SHOULD ASK if they were out of ribs ( like that makes sense). If they were out of babyback ribs, I should have been told when I placed the order... Also they had weird toppings on the pizza, that is why we didn't order pizza. Indeed, they might have the best crust in New England-but I didnt want goatcheese and tofu if you get the picture. I know I wont ever eat there again and I've warned friends not to bother--

Thank you

Why did you list "Tonawanda NY" as your address? You sure sound like someone from NY. In NH, we like our ribs a bit charred on the edges...whitens the teeth. And we don't complain about restaurants on the internet like they do in NY. We express our displeasure by going somewhere else next time. Judging by the crowds at Heat these days, they are not missing you.

I just had one of the best pizza's I have ever had at Heat today. Their toppings are not weird and they are very tasty. I have eaten at a lot of pizza places living near the Boston North End. This place is by far better than most pizza found in Boston.
We did not have enough room for dessert so we ordered the four layer chocolate cake to go made with Guinness beer. It was very good too!

We tried this place this summer. It was aweful. The pizza was lousy, the waitress was fair and the place does look dirty. They could have had a goldmind if the new how to do it right.

A bad waitress does not equal a bad restaurant. The food at Heat is unbelievably good. Pizza is the BEST north of Boston. Homemade desserts, Guinness four layer chocolate cake, coconut cake, yumm. Give this place a chance..only opened in June and money is short. This place will be around for a long time.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Taurus

Keep calm! Your emotions are becoming increasingly heightened and intense today. As a result, you're likely to take things much more seriously than usual. That's wonderful if you're involved in a hot and heavy encounter with Mr or Ms Right, but it won't be such good news if you go overboard about silly trifles. If you're doing some last-minute shopping you'll want to be as extravagant as your budget allows. Or is it a case of Budget...? What budget?
