Thats what Billy Joye thought as he told me how he stood for more than just the "downtown" bunch. He went on and on about being poor and being from a mill hill. The only time I seen him was election time. Dick Cromlish also got to feeling "untouchable" for awhile. There is not enough houses in Hawthorn and on mainstreet to win an election. And to be honest about it, its going to be the people in East and North Belmont and the Reid area that decide this election. We all know who the uptown crowd is going to vote for.

Reid, East and North Belmont have no one on this present council to represent these communities. We need change on this council. Hellmont needs diversity, which at this time has none.

Most North Belmont residents can't vote in Belmont elections. The Old Stowe Spinning Mill Hill, Roper Street and some on Acme Road are the only residents that can vote in Belmont elections. The rest of the area is county voting.

...unless Belmont has annexed the other areas recently.

You must be a northerner, go ride the boundries of NB and you will see how many homes are in the city. Those people are the redheaded stepchild.

Brian Anderson couldn't find East Belmont with the FBI. He couldn't name 5 people that live in East Belmont.

Most of the homes of which you speak are in the unincorporated areas of NB.

Incorrect. The North Belmont precinct is at the school. There are many residents of NB who vote in city elections. They vote and they communicate. They have not been treated well.

My mother, aunt and two brothers live on School Street, across the from North Belmont Elementary. They don't vote in city elections. They do vote at the elementary school. The don't pay taxes to Belmont. They pay Belmont for water.

The only residents in NB that can vote in city elections are those living on the former Stowe Spinning Mill Village. Most of what is called NB isn't in Belmont city limits. Some of it is actually Mt. Holly.

North Belmont precinct returns for city residents are traditionally very low. Usually less than 100 compared to close to 700 - 900 total for the other Belmont precincts. In 2001 Cromlish received 983 votes total. 38 were from NB. This was the only year from which we could find an actual count, but the raw numbers of actual voters don't vary greatly year to year.
