Drove by Friends last night. 6 police cars and ambulances. Who was shot? Hope they okay, it was a circus. What a way to start 2013. Ought to have metal detectors.

didnt see it in no papers or the local news. just the road rage rednecks in a "safe and secure" gated community; ya know like Walmart where its family friendly with a family friendly restaurant, hair salon, shopping galore and many many deviants, pediphiles, thugs waitin for the perfect victim; remember ya'll, they have a million dollar budget for security cameras etc. why? hmmmm i'll tell ya a little secret; one of the worst places to be so you folks cant have it both ways. i'll take my chances at a normal, respectable bar/rest with an ambiance and staff with personality. happy and safe new year to all decent people.

golly. for a second there I thought you were talking about JAX until you got to the part about being safe. Then I thought you were talking about Old Bone Steakhouse, until you got to the part about 'friendly staff' and 'decent people.' at least the people that go to Friends admit they just bought their shotguns at Walmart.

Methyphobia is an intense, irrational fear of alcohol. Also known as Potophobia, the methyphobic individual may actually fear people who consume alcohol or the loss of control when alcohol is consumed. People compromised by this phobia will actively avoid any situation where they might be exposed to alcohol. As a result, they may avoid family gatherings such as weddings or holidays.

According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), 37% of almost 2 million convicted offenders currently in jail, report that they were drinking at the time of their arrest.

How you like them apples?

Thank you for referring to me as a drunk, and not an alcoholic.

Alcoholics go to meetings, and I most certainly DO NOT go to meetings...

Unless it's at a bar!

What does all this have to do with shots being fired at friends? Who got shot? Hope it was the owner.

There were no shots fired at Friends.

FYI: Just because you see a bunch of police cars and ambulances does not mean that a crime was committed.

For example: 2 weeks ago at Friends, a guy had a heart attack. The Belmont PD arrived 1st as they are in their vehicles and on the radio. The Fire Department arrived 2nd as they are in Belmont and on call. The ambulance arrived last they came from all the way over in G-town.

Good thinking. SO if we follow your logic, Bureau of Justice statistics show that almost 40% of those incarcerated are African American while they comprise only 14% of the overall population. So first we get rid of the alcohol, than we move onto....

On second thought, maybe we should consider the people not incarcerated, before we start making public policy.
