I always have liked Jax and was bummed when I heard they were changing. Things have turned around for the better. New menu is good. I had a a great Santa Fe burger and a couple new beers I never tried. I hope they make it. Looks like it has slowed down. Service was good. Lot's of new faces. I wish them well and hope they get a second chance. Keep your chin up guys! I'll be back.

Obvious Reply: Jax never closed!!!

Although they no longer have pizza, which is a shame, IMHO.

I wish them well.

This is what booze has brought to Belmont. It ought to be closed as a public nuisance.

JAX is open and will remain open, whether it be under the same name or under the name The Local. Belmont has more than one establishment in town that serves alcohol and to hold JAX responsible for the irresponsible behavior of those who go there is a very pointed statement about the hatred and intolerance in this tiny little town. I am not at all impressed with all of the hate spewed on this cite and it is careless and ignorant. shut all the bars down then. friends, sammys, old stone BFNB, string bean. last i checked this was a free country where people make their own choices and the know it alls who are obsessed with bashing ANY business on this forum are small uninformed, bigots and blind fearful people fueled by the misfortune of others. You should be the ones run out of town and GOD will judge you . Best be shakin in your backwoods boots when that time comes .

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Jax is one of a kind. How they attract so many 20 something red necks is beyond me! Out of all the other places you listed none compare to this place or present the trouble it does. The patrons are testosterone driven and alcohol fueled like none I've ever seen and the police reports will back that up. I'm not blaming the owners because I don't think they could create this if they tried. It does need to close for the safety of the community. Let's not be so quick to forget the recent "Local" who died after a night of heavy drinking here, may he RIP.

that "local" was a 53 year father and husband who many a nights walked home on the tracks. he was a friggn drunk and irresponsible father and husband who was out till 3 am. is this normal in my world? hell no! the irony is that the owners of jax live on cedar st in belmont and the "victim" who died while passed out on the tracks has a sister who once owned a bar called hartigans. btw, it's on cedar street in charlotte. she was as irresponsible as most bar owners and had a death inside her establishment and did not call first responders as a woman lay dying inside her bar from a very sharp beer bottle. dyke on dyke fight. victims family's lawyers found the bar at fault. so many a bar owners are very irresponsible while the others just lucky!! simple as that.

Get your facts straight. The "victim" did not, repeat did not die on the premises. He unfortunately came to his untimely death by being irresponsible, drunk and walking home as he did many times at 2 or 3 am but this nite fell aspleep on tracks and was blown away by the train period. And it is a fact, although BPD will not acknowledge it,that Mike was patronizing the couple other bars in the very near vicinity and we do not know much after that. BPD has yet to come to any real conclusion(as usual of anything) but seeing footage of 2 bartenders drinking after hours which resulted in them being arrested. Can't make this shit up either. Could happen to any or all of the bars in belmont, charlotte, and all the frickin bars across the nation. As one poster posted, they are the lucky bar owners who seem to avoid this heavy scrutiny that jax has had to endure since the opening. Free enterprise is BULLSHIT HANDED ON A SILVER PLATTER. I am sick of the ill-informed gossip fucking loosers. Get lives people.

Better stated, trying to be neutral in an unlevel playing field. And pointing out the irony of a tragic ongoing gossip site. So I levelled it out.

And I'm sure the victim's family isn't feeling too happy about it either, or Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or the Evangelicals or those who voted NO to booze in the first place. There's always 2 sides to the every story honey.

Alcohol does nothing but bring tragedy and sadness. Why any rational person wants to alter their rationality and consciousness with a chemical, and put others' lives in danger is beyond me. That's " fun"? It's sick.
