I was trying to get to hall/kenowa area, and had to clear many trees out of the road with a chainsaw, just to get through. Also, when homeowners got home, they found their driveways blocked and couldn't get into them. The county brought out front end loaders to clear the streets. The problem is, they just pushed them off the road, saying that the driveways that they were blocking were the problem of the homeowners, not theirs!! Rediculous!! But, when we tried to cut logs up ourselves, and drag them out of the way, we were stopped by the police/county workers. I dont quite understand it.

No real news... just minor damage in my area 1 mile south of Rockford. My brother lives NE of Cedar Springs, beyond 17 Mile Road. He reports no damage or power outage there either.

I forgot. I totally shut down my computer during the storms. When I powered back up? I got a notice I'd never received before. Warned that my dates and clock were not correct. I checked... wow! Puter was off for less than three hours... and the date reverted back to 2000, December PM. How weird is that?

I just came from my night class at GRCC. Fulton street past College Ave is completely flooded. Water was to the door of our excursion. College street is also completely flodded. Parts of Cherry are submerged in water. A 10 min drive home took me 40 minutes to manuever around flooded downtown roads. All of the street lights are also out. Lots of tree branches are in the road.

Extensive trees down on the north side of Holland. Possible waterspout as we followed the path from the beach inland about 1/2 mile. Sucked our windows outward (not completely, but the wind broke the seal causing an awful suction sound...enough to get me to run for cover in the basement), all at the same time it was hailing pea to marble sized hail. Many trees uprooted in our neighborhood and TONS of storm debris littering the streets and bike paths. Eerie evening over here with all of the chain saws buzzing. As a side note, not sure if it is open yet but 168th Ave between James and Lakewood was closed because of downed lines and trees. The fire dept. was blocking the road.

Can you say OVERKILL? It's nice to have updated weather information, but to have to watch every raindrop as it moves inch by inch across the area for hours is ridiculous. You would think that with WOODTV's monopoly of the television airwaves they could have one station with regular programming. They eliminated their Indiana competition a few years ago, so we don't have any choice here any more.

When the second round of the storm hit two 13 year old girls found them selves in the blowing of rain and wind as well as tree limbs. They went to McDonalds for shelter. They were scared and cold. The manager turned them away as the workers inside agrued for them to let these frighten wet girls in. In a panic they ran towards the True Value store close to McDonalds where without hesitation the employees inside pulled them in to safty where they were able to call home for help to get picked up. Thank you True Value for your caring. McDonalds you have just lost some buisness. I tried to talk to the General Manager and was not given his phone number , nor would they give me Corperate number.

Come on 8. Let it go, we got some wind, rain, and some trees fell. That's it. Your coverage yesterday was a joke. All reporters were out just on the weather. Tornado? no!! Just give us the facts quickly and let it go--Sheesh

If George Bush had reacted to my warnings about global warning instead of conducting his war in Iraq this could have been avoided. Impeach GW now and get Craig James back from retirement before it is too late.
