<quoted text>There are medical studies showing that 1 or 2 glasses (read 4 ounces) of red wine per day can have some health benefits, primarily in protecting against heart disease. Red wine contains resveratrol which is a potent antioxidant.

Even beer in moderation (1-2 twelve ounce glasses daily) seems to have potential health benefits. http://www.forbes.com/2008/03/14/beer-drink-h...
The difference between having a glass of wine or a beer and smoking a joint is that you can have a glass of wine or a beer and not become drunk but you can't smoke a joint and not become high.
Yes I've heard the same studies. I stand corrected it is not totally a poison. I just think it's funny that in justifying MJ alcohol is repeatedly being brought up by the MJ crowd. Pointing to other things does not make it right.
I guess it's all they know point to Bush to justify Obama, point to bad behavior to justify other bad behavior. Unbelievable!

Certainly not the uneducated...

Do you really want to go there, and continue with your name calling?
I've said this before many times.
I'll repeat it for you because you seem to have a comprehension problem.

My mother worked on the "cancer floor" at Butterworth Hospital for MANY years.( this was Many years ago)
Those patients would get so sick from the chemo treatments that doctors and nurses would turn a blind eye to the fact that family and freinds of pateints would sneak pot up there to there yooms, and let them smoke it. It was the only thing that at that time seemed to help.

If you're so damned "educated" and want to call me uneducated, why dont you explain to us why the operator of the crane that caused the building to collapse, while he was high is a good thing!

I've NEVER said that there were no benefits to MJ at all.
But maybe you could explain the benefits of using it while operating heavy machinery?
Maybe you need to educate yourself!

Who said he was high on MJ? The report I saw was that he was tested positive for THC and Prescription Pain Killers. We have yet to hear all the facts. To claim he was HIGH at the time on just MJ is judging it all on the one fact not that he had other prescription drugs in his system at the time.

Please forgive me...I honestly mis-read your stance on medical mj.
With regards to using it while working...hell no!!!
His use of mj however, was not the sole cause of the accident. There were several other factors that contributed to his even being there as a crane operator in the first place. The system failed and allowed a twice convicted felon to be operating a crane while high and taking pain killing medication with no crane certification or license in the first place. There was limited if any oversight from the municipality responsible for issuing the demolition permit to allow this to happen. Even the mayor said they are looking into the situation.
Corruption like this is easy to find.
The highlight of the story was mis-use of mj which we both apparently know does happen but that it is not always the root cause of all accidents...
I hope you get my point...

Going overboard a bit there Jimbob? I just told you what I had heard in the initial reporting. Now you go in attack mode. Like I said previously the truth will come out an prevail. MJ was not the only substance involved.

Grow up. You don't attack just because someone questions you.

I like the bitching about golf....and time spent away from the White House....Turn's out CBS White House Correspondent, Mark Knoller reported that George W. Bush took 149 trips to Camp David, spending 487 days in total.....77 trips to the ranch in Crawford, Texas, spending 490 days.....Just imagine if President Obama ever came close to that?.........

You like anyone who complains about GW no matter what they complained about, up to and including lying about him and what he did. Come up with the number of taxpayer $$ spent on lavish vacations by GW, will you? That number should be a hoot.

It also turns out he work out of Camp David for a good part of that time. I don't believe his own brewery was there and I don't believe he paid Tiger Woods to spend time with him, with taxpayer money. I don't think he used taxpayer money to fly in any of his Hawaiian friends either. When the terrorist attack happened on the Trade-centers Bush gave up golf because it would not look good for him to be out there golfing when the country is going through such turmoil. Obama doesn't give a crap. He actually golfs more.
I hope everything was spelt correct for all you potheads Jason.
