I was wondering if anyone remembers the 4 Seasons playing at Martells when "Sherry" was released and played on AM radio....the place was jammed every night to see the newest singing sensations. I still live in Point Beach and go past all these old fun spots---sure nice to have these memories. I work with a guy who just married a girl who's parents actually met at the Sea Girt Inn. We swap memories over beers--its great fun!!

Sadly she passed away about 5 years ago. But there is a small cafe where her favorite booth is memorialized with her pictures and stories.

Yes, that's her, or was her. She entertained up and down the Jersey coast and owned a nightclub in NYC for a while and entertained there too. She passed away about 5 years ago. (my cousin from my dad's side)

That was a great rendition she did, Red Roses for a Blue Lady. My dad actually taught her that song. He helped her pick out her first and only rested alongside her casket when she died...

What pleasant memories I have of Jimmy & Bobby Byrnes at the Sea Girt Inn. I drove to the Shore all the way from Michigan three summers in a row, 1963-1965, and closed the Sear Gir Inn every night. In an earlier post, someone asked about Jerry Lynch's Rinky-Dink Bar in Belmar. I lived upstairs over the bar one summer, played on their softball team almost every night, and had a great time drinking and singing with all of Jerry's transplants from the Bronx. Closing song every night was "God Bless America". What great memories!

Worked as a bouncer at the Osprey, we would close at 2am and we would all rush to the Bamboo Room. Line up the drinks from Tommy and stay until they chased us out at 3:30

Ive worked the boards my whole damn life and still do, I wish there would be a reunion but I dont think we will see one,I still know alot of the people from back in the day and the vibe Im getting is there will never be a reunion. Everyone is just to old to "rock n roll".Its sad 'cause I still can party with the best of 'em but Im probably an exception(im in my 60's) and it seems everybody is breaking down, losing steam, Im so tired of asking someone to go out for a few beers and they say they cant because of this or that and instead of a beer they would rather have a bowl of chicken soup with a cracker. Fuck that, thats stupid, once you start that crap your life is over!I lost my drivers license years ago but I think it's a blessing because now I ride a bike everywhere and it keeps me in shape. If any of my "old fogie" peers want to regain their party lifestyle they can come down to Paul's tavern, where everyone know how to have a good time. For what it is worth,I aint been to a doctor in 40 years and Im doing just fine!
