It's very sad to see the decline in our city. The town officials have let this happen by allowing drug rehabilitation facilities into our area, and now they want us to come together in a unified stand. I think it's very unfair of them to expect us to clean up their mistakes. It's time they do their jobs and clean up their own mess. We need to protect ourselves from all the problems they've created. I'm seriously considering moving to another town.

I hope that you'll prosecute them to the fullest. It's sad that half of these no good menn have children and make all this illegal money and don't take care of their children. I know one who is from Pittsburgh and he has several children that has been in this world without him cause the streets and his boys got him trapped. The fast life is the way he see's things and thats not fair to his children. He's a 33 year old man with no future and a drug life for a past. That is so sad. All this money he makes doing the wrong thing he can't even do something right by taking care of his kids.

These are not bad people. They just come from a poor little crap town. The only bad people are the ones who are judging them. Making the law harder on these people is foolish. The war on drugs is the biggest waste of money that comes out of our taxes. You know why? Because it is not a war that can be won. WOW the DEA busted a few small time drug dealers, big deal. Tobacco and Alcohol are drugs that kill more than Coke, Crack, and Heroin combined each year. So why are the drug dealers any worse than your local beer distributer or tobacco store?

First off you will pay regardless, from the 20 billion dollars the government taxes America each year, for the wasteful war on drugs. It is a federal tax not a local tax. Second, If you are so concerned about your children, then why do you allow them to roam the drug filled streets? Do you let your kids play with guns too? Face the fact; Drugs are all over, you will never escape it. I saw more drugs aboard a Navy Carrier, than I did in a booming night in a college filled town. Raise them how you want, I can not care less, but they are no better than the junkies you are sick of paying for. Blame the U.S.A. for the tax, not the junkie.

First of all we don't have allegators in PA as far as I know second you need to proof ready this and learn to use spaces and not run words together. Your last sentence is so jacked up it doesn't make sense!

sharon, i hope u move to another town the drugs will be there too. Philipsburg's kids need drug rehab there are alot of addicts living amongst us.I would rather have a rehabilitated addict living next to me than a current user. Some peoples children die in car accidents from drinking and driving others od.

wake up, you are comparing junkies to alcoholics and smokers?? The difference is, hippie from state college, that drunks dont usually burglarize homes for their next beer. Smokers dont leave their babies at home unattended to get their next fix. apples and oranges. junkies are junkies by choice, doesnt mean i have to feel sorry for them or sympathize for their reasoning. get them help if they want it. it was their decision to start anyway. but quit fighting the war on drugs?? are you crazy? or are you just an addict? you cant escape it, you cant move from it, but that doesnt mean i have to accept it. It is the law, accept that.

Sorry Gooveman. You must be very young and really don't know anyone that has been affected by drugs of any kind. I may be wrong about this, but it sounds as if you have no idea what types of people can be affected by drugs. I grew up in Tyrone, and the drugs were there then too, but not the same kind of drugs that are more prevalent today. I now live in a very nice area in VA, we've been lucky, the jobless rate where we live is much lower than some areas just down the highway from us. There have been drug busts in the high schools many times. Here heroin is big, kids here unfortunately can afford it. Living in an area where the unemployment rate is high and there aren't as many opportunites for children in the community may be a factor, but I agree that the community needs to get involved too. Parents need to get involved, and if there is any sign of anything going on, they need to step in and intervene. It starts at home.

In my opinion, the the biggest problem with the war on drugs is the "drug task force". These glory hounds are letting the small timers go in order to get to the big dealers. What they fail to see is that while they are going after the big guys, there are more people getting hooked. They need to nail everyone from the smallest to the largest to get the point across.

It is a absolute fact that alcohol and cigarettes kills ten times more than heroin and cocaine combined! Actually more then ten times. And how many people died from smoking pot? Come on do-gooders, how many people died from pot??
You people want me to fully be like you, think like you, believe the same bs, me on the other hand does not care what or how you want to live YOUR lives. My body, my business. And forget your stereotypes! I work every single day and would not steal a dime. As for gun-crimes, anyone who uses a gun needs to go to prison FOR LIFE. And all murderers need to get one appeal and PUBLICLY executed within 90 days of their crimes. So, who's conservative, you or me?
Prohibition on drugs IS what causes the problems and extracurricular crimes. As for the drug rehabs, thank God for them (some definitely need it.) As for you who deride rehabs and blame them for your troubles, that's weak. That's like blaming a Bank for building a branch in a Bank Robber's neighborhood. Besides, Altoona is part of America too, and any and all Americans may pass thru this town. "Not in my town," this is my town too.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Aries

Be very wary about mixing love and money today, because they could curdle and leave a nasty taste in your mouth. Someone might rip you off, or so it seems to you. And 'seems' is the operative word because, with the Moon in sensitive Cancer, you're very subjective and emotional, strongly influenced by your feelings. There is also a chance that someone you trust is playing fast and loose with your heart, although you won't be certain of that just yet.
