Man fatally shot in Berwyn

A 19-year-old man was fatally shot Friday night in west suburban Berwyn. Christopher Rivera, 19, of 6332 26th St., was fatally shot at 2532 Cuyler Ave., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

I knew this guy and he wasnt even a gang banger. its a shame how these cowards hide behind there gun right in front of where we live and where our kids go to school. Chris was a nice and very welcoming guy, he didnt deserve to be shot down by low life gang bangers.

chris rivera was not a ganbanger. i know this because i knew him. he was going somewhere. he was talented and he had it all. some say he was the next chris brown. he was a dj,song writer, rapper, and dancer. he was an all around guy and had problems with nobody. these boys out here need to realize this game isnt funny. killing innocent lives isn't right. we love you chris and may you rest in paradise.

First of all, this is my cousin. How dare you come on here and make cynical remarks when my family is suffering because he was taken from us in such a brutal manner? Yeah, investigate Rico and don't bother with why this is happening in Berwyn. Like everything I've said since post #1 was the new residents are the blame for Berwyn's change.

I never spoke to chris but we bumped serval times outside, I would always see him go to the gas station. Its sad that when a tragedy like this bad occurs we All try to come together to show our appriciation towards The beloved one that passed away. Unfortunately in this situation Christopher... RIP. As a mother I know the pain of loosing a child, a sibling.... a family member. A loved one period. It hurts.... but with all the respect to christophers family especially his mother.....' yes ,it hurts having to had lost a young, bright, talented, young man, but he is now at rest and this is the time to come together and pray for christopher, for his justice to be made. He is in a better place..... I will pray everyday....... REST IN PEACE CHRISTOPHER....... and for dat low life, good for nothing, coward who took the life of this innocent young man....its a shame you were put on this earth for taking the life of a human !!!!!!!... please let us all pray.

Christopher rest in peace. Although we never got to know one another I know you were a good person. I've heard several good things about you. Its very traggic when you lose a close person to you due to gun violence. I personally have lost many friends to violence in the streets caused by guns. Although you are in a better place now in heaven sitting next to God, your family and friends will miss you dearly. You will not be forgotten. May justice be served and that coward who took your life may he rot in jail once he is captured. That's how I feel about that. I send my condolences to your family and loved ones.
