Updated 1/14: Man dead after shooting in Melrose Park

A 24-year-old Chicago man is dead Wednesday after a shooting outside a Melrose Park bar. About time Stone Park.Melrose park cleans up that area.It's been a blite to this are for decades

Well i've been making the comment for a while now that we need to clean up the town. Start having the cops walk into these bookstores, strip bars, pool halls, etc. Its great to take a hooker or two off the streets but the real crime begins inside these places. Maybe this will wake up a few of the people in Melrose Park to start demanding more police action.

It's the three cities of StonePark,Melrose and Northlake that need to get a handle on it before this are turns in to another East L.A.

That's why I got the hell out of Northlake. It's in motion already and a lost cause. Northlake today is what Stone Park was 5 years ago. I think Melrose has seen the worst of it. The parents of these kid's don't give a flying fart about the behaviour of the kids, I saw it first hand in my neighborhood. The final nail was when the billboards for Burger King etc. were all in spanish. It's over, time to go...

I miss the days when Melrose was filled with Goodfella's (and wannabe's) and Stone Park was a hillbilly town...

Bangers don't know what love is. Most of them only know each other by street name. There aren't many that even know each others first and last names. They usually don't get that information until the actual funeral.

When you love somebody, you know the person's family, first and last name. You wouldn't hand them guns or drugs. You wouldn't ask them to participate in anything that might get them hurt or possibly sent to jail.

We should start closing down the places they like to hang out. Adult bookstores, strip joints, pool halls, etc. I've been pushing for that for some time in here. If you're serious about wanting safer streets then push for the politicians, and the cops to go after them when they go to play, get drunk, and to harm others.

exactly and 100% correct, I moved when I saw the gang graffiti. This stuff never happened back in the days you mentioned. from what I hear, all the bars are frequented by gang bangers from all over the burbs
