I'm 16 and wondering if anyone saw in fast food places or department stores that are now hiring. I've been filling out applications but they never respond. Any tips appreciated.

One thing that helps is to go back to the places, ask about it. Tell them you applied & wanted to check & see if they are hiring, talk to the managers. This way you show them you are serious.

I live in Pace and one thing that i learned from experience is that you've just got to keep calling those people and bugging them.Pace is hard to get a job. i'm not sure about P-cola though

Pensacola sux. This place is like the bottom of Florida. When you go somewhere and not even Mcdonalds is hiring you know that there is a problem. How do people survive here? on welfare?

Hey I've been searching to and I agree P'Cola sux. I'm ready Break Out of the Mickey D thing. I just joined this website to learn to make some change online. You want to check it. I didn't have to pay for it or nothing like that. Here's the link to it

Someone made a comment about, how do people survive here in pcola/..welfare??
I have to say as an ex lawenforcement officer, injured on the job...spinal cord injury...No welfare doesn't give u enough to even pay your electric much less a mortgage payment. For 3 kids your lucky to get $335 amonth in cash assistance with disability. Then if you fail to abide by their rules by not finding a job they take away that money and food stamps from your kids. Talk about cruel punishment, taking food from a child when the only reason you get stamps is cause you have kids. Go figure, the government can spends millions on housing inmates, feeding them 3 times a day and take food from childrens mouths...who needs to be behind bars? Whoever came up with the clever idea that it was ok to make a child go hungry because there are no jobs to be had as well as make sure your power gets cut off by taking what little cash is given. Florida does suck, can someone find a person who actually works for the government instead of just collecting a paycheck? I doubt it!!!

just start reporting these people to the EOE. Start sueing these people for not even responding to your applications. That is how people are making a living in Jacksonville... by sueing companies for this very thing. That is how people in Jacksonville are making a living. And "NO" you don't need a lawyer to sue these companies. Just contact the EOE ( Equal Opportunity Employment Commision ) and file a claim then file a suit at the local state attorney's office and you will be given a court appointed attorney. IT'S ALL FREE.
