I find that hard to believe, though it would not be a surprise. That place is unbelievable in its corruption and mismanagement. I have heard that the Dallas VA human resources department had a few employees escorted out of the facilities for selling federal employment positions. I wonder if the Bonham rumors are somehow related?

That will be God sent, if so. Then my fellow Veterans can seek and find professional health care. Will even make Bonham Hole a better place to live. What will all the so called ranchers do now with their cash cows out of a job?

Anyone who has a position past probation at the VA will have a similar offer at another place but they will need to leave Bonham. For many of those federally employed Bonhamites and Fanninites, making them move out of the area is like taking catfish and crustaceans out of shit infested water, not pleasant for them.

Yep. And the closing of a VA hospital anywhere would most likely make national news with all the controversy surrounding the lack of medical care for our vets.

Back years ago, the medical care hospital component of the Sam Rayburn facility closed around the same time of year, with the same sporadic rumors about a month beforehand.

The CLC there at Bonham has seen a number of retirements without replacements this year. Also, a thinning of residents is remarkable in its extent. The Dom has been hit with scandal after scandal, and was on a national red list for inadequacies before the latest scandal. The CLC residents and the DOM residents can be easily relocated to other facilities or placed out of the system. The clinics can reschedule all of the vets to different teams and locations. I tend to think one program would shut down, then the others phased out over a period of time. It is all rumors at this point but the facility has been under scrutiny for the past three years.

Many people living in Bonham do not realize the facility operated by the VA IS NOT A HOSPITAL. It is a veterans center. When people at the Dom or at the Community Living Center have an emergency or require hospitalization, they are sent to Red River Regional across the street or shipped to the Dallas VA Medical Center. All that is provided at Bonham can be provided at other clinics or locations.

Long before credentialed and licensed professionals nearly killed a veteran due to inapproriate relations, veterans injured doing work and recreating at a staff member's residence, numerous inspections failed consistently at the Dom and CLC, the top law enforcement officer's murder by his employee wife over rumored personal relations at the facility and subsequent suicide of the wife, reported and confirmed inappropriate business relationships and conflicts of interest by various staff in professional and admin capacities; the Bonham facility has been scrutinized by the agency. All of this can cause rumors to develop and also give credence to the rumors. When veterans receive substandard care to the point of consistent scrutiny, the agency will discontinue the facility if it will not cause a deficit in care. We must wait and see if the rumors are true.

As a military retiree and VA retiree, I confirm all the above statements, and know of many more.
I stood up and fought for years for those BASTARDS to stand up and do the right thing. Their pay checks and social events ruled. Veterans were on the back burner. I remember telling Ma Barker that every time I saw that police vehicle with protect those that served, written on the side, I got a big laugh. Most of the crime that I saw out there was binging BLACK IN BONHAM. I am not black but not blind to what happens at the VA and in Bonham.

I will emphasize, the concerns of Bonhamites and Fanninites have always been away from the care of Veterans and their best interests. It has been a Bonhamite playpen out there, and has been for years. All of the flag waving events and speeches by Ralph Hall, all the tear jerker gestures by the local Bonhamites, all the "thank you for your service," means jack shit when you are padding payrolls and featherbedding at the expense of down and out veterans of ALL colors and persuasions. Using veterans as cover for your crooked assed Fanninite dealings need to come to an end. I do not care if you are a Master Mason and Most Worshipful Bastard of the Lodge or Brother Billy Bob of the FBC. Your dealings are rotten to the core. It is even too much for the Feds to deal with.

It is true. You are just too ignorant to realize it. The place is named Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center. It is not even a medical center. The CLC is a nursing home, not an acute care hospital. The Domiciliary is just that, look up the definition. They are in house residents, bozo, not patients. All acute care is done in a real hospital. The other facilities at the campus are clinics. You must be a Bonhamite Boneheaded Bodine.

Too bad, your ignorance of the usage of the words to and too are only matched by your ignorance of what goes on at the VA. Rumors or not, the Bonham facility is under scrutiny and more will come. You must be an "employee" or somehow dependent on an overpaid and incompetent Fanninite federal employee.

I am a Veteran and have been a consumer at VA Centers across the nation, Travis. I have been a consumer at Bonham and I stayed long enough to witness many things there at the Center and in the town of Bonham. The statement that scrutiny is nothing new is correct, though the charges and incidents are becoming grave and congressional in nature.

As to employment, I have no desire to be employed in a VA Center and most certainly would not be employed at Bonham. I find the incidents happening at Bonham during my stay there unbelievable and outlandish in scope and I would hang my head in shame if I were employed there. The latest scandal involves the selling of positions out of Dallas and I do not know how Sam Rayburn is involved in this but there are rumors it is somehow involved.

I have no idea if the posting initiating this thread is true. I do know that after multiple incidents a couple of years ago, the Dom came very close to closure and any subsequent rumor of total closure is unbelievable to me. However, in 2012 an inspection of the CLC and the Dom revealed that areas of the facilities had not been cleaned in well over five years. Also, the inspectors found weeks old multiple bowel movements in the toilets of unoccupied suites in the DOM. This, after an announced inspection, sent shock waves into Ma Barker's world and then sealed her doom after a CLC inspection revealed even graver staffing and resident care issues. I am not even mentioning the suicides, para suicides, dope sales by residents to employees, inappropriate sexual and financial relationships, and overall sloth as a fact of life never coming to the surface unless there is a death or the wrong politically connected aggrieved party. You, as do many, assume the games will continue forever. Nothing lasts for an eternity. Travis, Bonham has made a name for itself with the IG, Congress, DOJ, and its subdivision the DEA. If it costs the wrong people too much in finances and reputation it will close just as the Medical Hospital component of the Center did not too long ago. When it closed, the employees were the LAST to know.
