Someone needs to ask Dr. Beaty how much the district is paying on legal fees for lawsuits against him and the district and special ed coop. Amount would startle you as a taxpayer. Our tax dollars at work.

BISD is a public school owned and financed by the tax payers of the school district. Open Records, Open Records, Open Records are available for a very small fee. A written request are required and the school district administration has a legal responsibility to furnish the information requested.

Who has filed a lawsuit against the school? Hopefully the special needs child's family for illegally videoing their child. That poor teacher started asking for help in Oct 2012 and the admin would not help. The child's family needs to sue bisd for millions!!!

They need to sue the teacher who abused the child and stole money. They need to thank the people who set up the camera to catch a thief but actually caught more!

First of all it wasn't "a teacher" it was a teacher and a aide. Second if one of them was stealing why is neither of their charges theft. Also why would the parents sue the teacher if they didn't even press chargers on them. Bonham PD pushed it through NOT the parents. Why you ask.... the teacher is married to a police chief. They knew it would look unfair so now she is getting screwed yet still the parents are after her.

The grand jury decided to formally charge the teacher and aide. If they felt there was nothing to it, they could have no billed it. But I think we should all wait to judge til we see the video.

You sound worried for her. If I were you, I would be too. But what I don't understand is, why would you bring her up on this site in a thread that wasn't even about her? Why draw more attention to it? But since you opened the door.......

I don't know where you are getting your information about the family not wanting to press charges. If they know or have seen what is on that video that the police, district attorney, and now Grand Jury (made up of citizens like you and me) have all seen and judged consistently the same. That just doesn't make sense. It would make more sense that the person who had money stollen from them (probably a misdemeanor charge) chose not to press charges for whatever reason. I also do not buy the whole 'because she's a police chief's wife' reasoning since there is another individual facing the same charges.

For me, it's more concerning that a person of that background and education would stoop that low to not only steal but abuse a child when it's her job to protect them. Teachers are suppose to be the first line of defense. Teachers are the ones a child can go to when things are terrible at home. She had been thoroughly educated on all of this. There is no excuse. Do you know what's even more terrible? No body would have believed this child if it hadn't been caught on video. That is, if the child has ever even had the courage to tell, which most kids do not. Sympathy should be kept with the victim in this case. And the victim is not Mrs. Connerly.

two teachers who were let go because of retire and rehire and now Beaty hires his buddy for high school principal from Little Elm who is rehire and retire. District is being sued but papers have not reached the district yet. Also, two teachers are suing because of other reasons.

The BHS principal was only hired to finish out the school year. Give them time to find a new one. Plus, all of the good candidates would be under contract now anyway.

I have a child with Special Needs and I am not familiar with the former people in that class that you speak of. I have seen the Teacher they hired after the debacle and I don't think I have ever seen, after many years of dealing with Special Needs Teachers, a more hard working dedicated one than Mrs Kelton. Such love and dedication to children who need it is hard to find. Our children can't make high scores for your school district, set athletic records or excel in athletics or scholastically. But they are our little heroes in every sense of the word! I think Mrs Kelton must have been a God send to my childs class. They all adore her and she seems to love each and every one of them without reservation. She had a young aide, Mr. Farris, in her class at one point who was an excellent mentor for these children but I believe he was moved to another class? I have been a Special Needs parent for a long time and I know how much time it can consume both physically and mentally. BISD/FCSSA made a good choice when they hired this one! She is the hardest working lady I have ever seen and always with a smile. God bless you and give you strength Mrs.Kelton!
