It also began with a little program called Section 8! The program is needed in this country but it is set up all wrong. Its allows these savages to take advantage and never get jobs and rewards them the more kids they have.

this is disgraceful. A child is now going to suffer as a result of illegal dog fighting in his own home. Tell me where are the neighbors? Are none of them up to the task of reporting such horrendous activities? Obviously they are all involved. Animal cruelty charges must be brought against the parent along with child endangerment. Disgusting period. This has to stop.

If this boy survives (god willing) he should be taken away from this low life of a father. What the hell is wrong with these people?

Who ever said no one minds? I know I mind!!! The few idiots in Bellport you act like that ruin it for the rest of us. The boys mother is actually a hard working woman who works at night and goes to college in the morning. Yes the father is an idiot but that's just life.

He put his son in danger that day. And because someone is Black that makes them a savage? Get real. Most of the people who live in Bellport work hard everyday. There is crime in every nieghboorhood but of course there is going to be more crime in a low income one.

I was raised in Bellport and believe me not only didn't I see half of the things that went on but my mother taught me to not get involved with any of it. It all comes down to what you are willing to expose your children to, and how active you are in their everyday lives..

Maybe because I'm mixed I could never be as racist as some of these bigots on here. Pray for the little boy who will never be the same. Pray to whatever you like but negativity only makes it worse.

Well, I'm color blind, so I'm going to assume that by "savage" the poster meant to say this was an uncivilized act and not targeting any specific group of people based on the act of one man.
My white, upper middle class NYC childhood taught me these words from one of the greatest orators of the 20th Century: "I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Those words were profound to me then and I still believe them. To make blanket statements without any basis in fact reflects ignorance and a lack of empathy for the people in this world. By definition, a "minority" is a smaller group that differs from the majority. So who exactly is being referred to? Poor people can't afford to move into neighborhoods with $600K homes, and judging from the latest reports, neither can most middle class people. Section 8 started in the late 1930s as a way of helping low income families and it wasn't exclusive to minority groups. The largest population of welfare recipients remains single white mothers. The largest group of illicit drug users are adults aged 50-59. The media doesn't focus much attention on these statistics because it's hard for people to understand that what they believed was false. Sure, there are a lot of people who take advantage of the system. Name one government system without a loophole. Guns reach our neighborhoods because it's difficult to determine when and where someone bought one. The NRA is very strong in Washington so any proposed changes to the Second Amendment will be challenged. If anyone believes guns and drugs only exist in poorer neighborhoods, there's a sale of bridges next month.
People want the same things no matter where they come from: a home, food in their stomach, an education for their children, and a better future than the past generation. Negligent parents are everywhere. Abusive relationships are everywhere. Dog fighting is seen as an extension of masculinity. Just ask any vet what the response is when a man is told he has to neuter his dog. These "bad behaviors" are not the exclusive property of any group of people. They are taught and tolerated and passed on to the next generation until they become a way of life. If this unfortunate and sad event happened in a "white" neighborhood, the comments here would have referred to the family as "trailer trash" and jokes would fly by office water cooler tomorrow morning. These situations will end when people start taking responsibility for their actions and stop blaming everything under the sun for their situation. Violence will end when people have the guts to speak up instead of hiding in fear. Bigotry ends with the realization that you share more in common with the person who looks or speaks differently than you.
Bellport has a variety of ethnic groups living together without any issues, just like other towns across the country. We have isolated incidents just like everyone else. We have people who take pride in their homes and eccentrics that put pink flamingoes on their lawns. We have a number of well-known celebrities living here who like the quiet because we're not the Hamptons and fight to keep it that way. Become a part of the solution that makes the world a better place.

By SAVAGE I am refering to lifestye. It has nothing to do witrh race. If you are dog fighting, shooting at people, dealing drugs, and gang baging then you are a SAVAGE..white, black, spanish I don't care.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Virgo

You're struggling to get everything finished in time today, making you feel fractious and tired. At some point you may have to take a pragmatic decision about which tasks must be completed today and which will have to be postponed until another day. Do your best to keep things in proportion otherwise you'll waste time in trivial details and needless nit-picking.
