For some it is surely ego or some hidden or not so hidden agenda. But for some the question can be answered much the same as if you asked why someone would be a volunteer firefighter.....a sense of civic duty and the prospect of making things better, regardless of the risk. There are still virtuous people in this world, unless of course your world perception is shaped by forums such as this one.If a forum such as this is anything more than a recreational activity as it seems with some of the "regulars", you probably do not have a positive view of any part of your world.
