Always makes for a good news story when the single complaining member of the public is given both the most ink, and the last word. Does the Reformer keep a printed manual instructing reporters on this, or is it just wisdom passed down through generations in the newsroom?

Yes the tax payers should have of had a chance to vote on this so that it would of taken 6 months before they voted and cost hundreds of dollars to hold a vote. Instead Dutch finally did his job and got some money for the village. Wade just upset because its in his back yard boo hoo hoo

Glad to see you want revenue but you sold out for nickels and dimes, if you brain surgeons had bothered to check with other giants in the wireless you industry you could have brought more revenue to the village and town. Is that federal restriction on the pond still in place?

What ever happened to the fire/ambulance $1000.00 a month rent? Oh that’s right girls might sleep there and we all know only Dill dough is allowed in that family affair of nepotism to SLEEP IN with the boys.

Glad to see the fat one out and about but at least put a red suit on to match that beet red nose.

With all due respect to Wade, who has made many excellent and correct points in the past, I don't see the need for a general referendum on this issue. It is well within the trustees right to make a decision on this lease agreement. It is why you elect them. You can't have a village-wide vote on every property lease.

once again king paul has made a royal decree and the court has backed out ass first in agreement with jester walsh first. followed by the reformer blogsmen. first royal decree was the royal guardsmen being allowed to roam the neighboring kingdoms without consent from the loyal subjects. Of course the loyal subjects have been duped into thinking they are no longer needed and soon they will not be. Second decree is to allow towers to be raised on land owned by the loyal subjects without their consent and reformist blogsmen are raising their voices across the kingdom in their usual loud but ignorant way to distract and confuse the subjects into believing they are no longer needed nor wanted. This play of words has worked for quite a few seasons and King paul has used it well to his advantage. The cowering court and the jester walsh are pleased to see few if any subjects appear at the bi monthly court sessions. Ocassionally a subject will arrive and attempt to speak the truth. The reformist blogsmen are sent to the far corners of the kingdom with their crier voices, the cowering court is set in their positions, jester walsh finds it difficult to decide what to do and king paul raises his kingly voice so loudly.. that no one knows that his words are full of ignorance and arrogance. The subject, though loyal, and speaking the truth is made to look foolish and self serving.
The inner court feasts,
laughs and celebrates
another victory of secrecy, and control.
To what end oh loyal subjects?
Raise your heads
from the wheat and grog!
Lift your ears
to hear above the blogs.
The king and court and jesters,
the inner court of boards,
the 'select' and
'trust'ed
do they speak for you?
Do they do what's best?
Look back, and think.
Look forward, don't blink,
for you may see
a future bleak...
or you may hope
and wish
and think
WHAT?????????
HEIL,HEIL,HEIL..........

I think the town should charge $1300 or so a month water charges for the water than runs through town land to the village reservoir that villagers then use,but only pay the water department for as billed. And if those signals from this tower cross over the town boundary, the town should get a "cut" of this action. That would be fair.

I believe the watershed above Minards pond is also owned by the village. Nice try though. Now pay up.

Water runs downhill for a long way. I'm sure it was in the town first!!Good project for Dutch to track down the origins to determine proper allocations to later haggle about.

King Paul will tear the heart from the Kingdom of Village and give it to the town. then subject vermont and shlobotnik can cease to argue. Aye,but the heart will cease to beat also. The town is but an endless and dark well into which all loyal subjects have long sent their gold and taxes for what? The kingdom of Village will sacrifice its treasure, its sacred forest, its golden pond, its gaurdsmen are already confiscated, it will lose its cleansers of potables and disposables, its magna charter and rulers, everything it is and was and could be will vanish from the books of history. It will no longer be. King Paul, Duke Jiggs, and all the little Dukes like Thomas will have their greed fulfilled. Not content to merely slowly bleed and milk the Kingdom of the Village they will now open her main artery and take her life. For what? To make their money changers' tasks simple, to hide their graft, to fool the subjects, to disguise their simple minds and not show that they are unable to dream a future. A future with the Kingdom of Village. Best to kill anothers drean if they cannot see it. When in history have we not seen thus before? Mein herr?

Village government consolidating with town government in a town of 5,500 people is comparable to the Nazi invasion of Europe? Gee, I wonder who you are?

If you have read any of my previous posts you would have noticed the fact that "Subject Shlabotnik" does not want your heart or any other village niceties. I advocate that the Village form its own city, keep its stuff and the town return to a Selectman form of governance and dump the Manager form of governance. Then the village can keep all its taxable wealth but also its high spending ways, including the management in town hall, the bloated staffing too and the village can control its destiny as it sees fit. Bergmann can be Presidente and she can appoint Read Secretary of Whateverness. And life will be good or at least entertaining.

Even when the village "keeping their stuff" means the town losing over 60 percent of its tax revenue? Yeah that will go over big. I agree though, I hope it happens even though I no longer have a dog in that hunt.

It's the school tax burden that is the big tax that will continue as is. Do not think that the school district as it is incorporated will change and that somehow the village tax base will no longer support that part of the tax burden. I speak only of municipal sevices. So yeah, go ahead and keep your tax base. With out the Manager form of government and without village expenses the town will be fine. But I admit, the form of governance needs to change for my model to save townsfolk. If the split is just cosmetic, everyone will lose.

I think the town should "hold" it for safe keeping until the village braintrust figures that out for you. Or, you could have the well heeled "man about town" keep an eye on it. He has money and knows how to handle things.

BUT..........your comment caused me to go back and reread the article. You raise an interesting point. It could be just lousy reporting which would not be a first for this paper. If it is accurate reporting good old Dutch must have been so aglow at his success that he wasn't able to dispense with some basic manager advice on setting up a clear accounting. If it is Water Dept.$$ why is it not going against that departments budget. And villagers wonder why their taxes are so high. New money= new spending and not tax relief. You folks elect 'em!!

Seems to me it would help with the Rec Center funding if they are wondering what to do with it after all there is water up there.
