First, let me express my sorrow for all those hit by Irene. I never thought I would tell my brother to be careful of hurricanes. He lives in Bennington, I live in Florida.
I have been going to Dot's restaurant since my father took me there as a mere 8-year old kid. I am now 65. We went their after Mass on Sunday before going to Mt. Snow to ski. We also went there on Wednesday afternoons, his day off, to enjoy Dot's and to ski.
I go there everytime I vist my family in Bennington. My wife and daughters, all four of them, have eaten at Dot's many times and love it, the food and the experience. For once they knew I wasn't telling them my hard to believe stories as a kid going to Dot's. I dearly hope they reopen.
