making a left from the right side of the road, and no summonses were issued?

How about a ticket for an unsafe lane change?

How do you make a left from the right side of the road , kill someone and no charges? Is that now a legal move since everyone drives like idiots now?

The CPL (Criminal Procedure Law) state that for a Police Officer to enforce a law that is a violation he must have reasonable cause to believe that a violation has occurred in his presence except for violation of sections 600 (leaving the scene of an auto accident property damage only) and 1192.1 (Driving while ability impaired by alcohol) of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. If the Police Officer didn't witness the violation he can't legally enforce it. I hope that answers your question.

It is a one lane roadway (going in each direction). I'm a bit confused as to how this happened...unless the car was parked on the side of the road and pulled a U turn from the parked position.

Either way, motorcycles bad/dangerous. I'd love one but it is too damn risky.

RIP Don, a long time family friend of mine. I saw him the day before he was killed, tragic to say the least. I hate bad drivers, they cause accidents all the time. This time, it was at the expense of someone's life. Dude had an awesome attitude, didn't care what people thought and didn't hesitate to speak his mind. He will be missed.

RIP "Garage Door" Don Croker...

Living here on the South Shore, it just doesn't surprise me. Drivers here are more selfish than anyplace I have ever lived. It is unreal what unsafe things people will do around here, particularly on Merrick Road to just save themselves a few seconds. Left turns across 4 lanes of traffic in the middle of the block across double yellow lines is not legal, ever. Left turns from the right lane are not either. I can't tell you how many times someone has made a right turn and went straight to the left lane in front of traffic that has the right of way. You know what, your kid can be a few minutes late to practice. Its better than hurting or killing someone.

Accidents like this don't surprise me, it is not the speeders that are the problem, the police need to enforce all of the laws on the books.

Newbridge rd is a 2-lane (or 3) roadway south right after N Jerusalem then from SSP overpass to right after Jerusalem ave and then at the intersection of Bellmore ave

My husband passed the scene - I can't recall exactly, but I think he said it was in front/close to the beverage center. It's the stretch between Jerusalem and Bellmore Avenues.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Cancer

You feel the urge to move onward, powered by your wisdom: when you're right, you're right. You may feel that any further explanation is unnecessary, but the people you're dealing with might need it spelled out for them. Take the time to draw a picture or use smaller vocabulary words to get your point across, Cancer. A public demonstration will probably prove to be the last word on the subject.
