Yes it is absolutely true. She's been pulled over quite a number of times (before and AFTER her appointment as DA) AND AGAIN just a few days ago in SUFFOLK.

Thank you, Tom; you are so right. Once a person who has just ingested alcohol is stupid enough to get behind the wheel, they BECOME CRIMINALS! PERIOD! The first thing you loose when you're drinking is your JUDGEMENT!! You are no longer capable of determining if you are OK to drive. So assume you're not, and just DON'T. This should be a non-issue. So you let someone else drive. What's the big deal?

There's no "e" in JUDGMENT. Now be quiet already.

Okay so you say first offenders get suspended license for 30 days...
Lots of good that does when the idiots just go out and drive with suspended licenses.
People don't cower from slaps on the wrists.
I say 30 days in the bing plus 5,000 dollar fines would definitely be a deterrent.
2 strikes equals 6 months behind bars.
3 strikes equals 1 year upstate.
Each penalty should have a hefty fine plus mandatory civil forfeiture of you vehicle.
That should teach them.
Sounds like you wear a black robe and carry a gavel. Not everyone continues to drive, teenager or adult, with a suspension or a DWI. If that's your opinion, than you are a very ignorant person, not to mention a moron.

Let me pose a question to you. Let us say that you did drink socially and you had 2 drinks at a bar or a friends house. Now, let's say that you got in your car to drive home believing that you were below the legal limit. Now, imagine that you didn't know that the bartender or friend who poured those drinks used an ounce and a half of liquor instead of one ounce for each drink.

Now you get pulled for a burned out tail light. The cops smells alcohol on your breath, he administers a field sobriety test and you fail. Then you get breathylized and blow a .06. Now your in handcuffs in the back of a patrol car wondering why you got arrested. You thought you were under the limit because you only had 2 drinks.

Here's a slap of reality for you. This happens to many people. They don't realize that 2 ounces would give you a .04, just under the limit, while 3 ounces will give you a .06. There's a DWAI charge you never expected. You didn't feel impaired but the law says you are.

Don't you think if that if that happened to you, assuming you have no previous convictions, and you were convicted, got 3 years probation, an interlock in your car, got revoked for 3 months, lost your job, you and your family suffered through the physical, emotional, financial stress and humiliation that you might change your opinion?

Nobody is perfect, including you. We all make mistakes. Walk a mile in someones shoe before you pass judgment on them.

Yesterday, I recieved the info directly from a Nassau County law enforcement official. Had I heard on the street I probably would not have believed it. Kathleen Rice was alledgedly pulled over in Suffolk County, NY on August 25, 2009. The Suffolk County police offer squashed the ticket. No charges were filed and no official info has been released.
I grew up in Garden City, NY and still reside here. I am the same age as Kathleen Rice as are all of my friends from GC. Not only is she still an alcoholic, there are other "rumors" that she has been pulled over in the past for DWI with no consequences. I and my friends drank and smoked weed with her during and after our high school years. I myself did not attend GC High but all of my friends did.
If you were a GC High student in her graduating class or know someone who was, you or they need to speak up about this hippocrites past and present.
While I don't condone drinking and driving, people who live in glass houses..........
She is out of control with first time offenders, whether there teen agers or adults!!!
I was wondering if you had heard anything about Kathleen Rice supposedly being pulled over for drunk driving in the Hamptons about two years or so, ago?

Allegedly, she was pulled over, found to be drunk but when officers realized who she was, they let her go.

I can tell you I only heard the rumor. I have nothing to do with it but I was compelled to ask if you knew about it.

If it is true, it's ironic how she vows to go hard against drunk drivers but her, herself is immune from arrest and prosecution. She apparently (possibly) is a drunk driver herself. She just has the ways to get away with it.

Maybe it's worth investigating? Like I have said before, I heard this rumor going around with some friends. I know nothing about it and have no participation in Any way. It's just a rumored story to me. Take it or leave it. I'd like to remain anonymous about it. Thank you.

Are you serious? D.A. Rice is totally in control, taxpeyers deserve to get what they're paying for, and that's full-time employees. Yes, it affects women, but women can't have it both ways. These are tough decisions that each individual has to make. Working at home, or a working professionally in a career. Unfortunately, rules have slackened to the point of ridiculousness, everyone is politically correct and afraid to speak their minds, but NOT Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice.
SHE works full time, so why shouldn't employees in one of the most populous counties in the country do the same? She made the tough decision to be a public servant at the expense of marriage, motherhood, and a host of other options to be sure.
Furthermore, the last time I checked the county was in financial trouble. This decision will help the county from a financial standpoint. Yes, this is a tough decision but it is the correct one.
Power to D.A. Rice - I applaud her, she's a winner!
It is sad that you feel this way. DEDICATED people should have a choice and be able to survive in this tough economy!!!!! Kathey is a very unhappy person with a vendatted against people who drink and drive and only wants her own people in her office. I personally have had troubles with one of her lieing assitants and they are trying to cover it up. Come elction Day, as a registered Democrat, I am going to have alot of trouble voting for her again.

This post was written by Kathleen Rice herself. Kathleen Rice should be ashamed of herself. Eventually, Kathleen Rice will fall from grace.

That will happen if constituents learn Rice put politics ahead of prosecuting crime in Nassau County. It's my opinion voters won't excuse ethical violations, and an abuse of power.

Daily Horoscope for December 1

Gemini

Spend the morning recharging your spiritual batteries and prepare for the coming Full Moon in your sign. Listen to your favourite music, surround yourself with your things and let confrontations and business dealings wait until you are ready. The Moon enters Gemini later today, so things will take on a much rosier hue.
