I bike was recently stolen from this person and i recoverd it by going into his back yard and taking it back. I put in a police report but they did nothing about, i took them a year and a half to relize that this person was stealing bike. He steals the bike right off front lawns and thinks he can just walk free. He spray paint the whole bike redand took off the peggs and kick stand. Well i am glad they finally arrested him. I hope he learns that

My bike was taken by this perosn a year ago, i placed a police report in and told th officer that i suspected that it was him, lukcly enought my unlce ( whos house it was stolen from, from the backyard)go the bike back by going in his backyard. But what i can't belive is that it took the police a year and half to discover this problem when it was in plain site of his backyard.I just hope he learns his lesson and repents.

It's not just Bellmore, we have plenty of bike thieves here in Seaford too. A police report is useless. Unfortunately when you have teenagers and their friends come over, they like to help themselves to your stuff when you're not home.

As the article said, more arrest are forthcoming. That should answer your question.

A 14 year old and two other teenage boys were riding bikes about 3 a.m. along Merrick Road? No wonder the cop stopped them! Where were the parents? It's ridiculous when kids that age are not only out at that hour, but in the stolen bike business as well. Looks like the moms and dads are contestants for "Parents of the Year"!

When I was a kid in Forest Hills, we used to see black kids coming from Jamaica into our neighborhood, riding two to a bike. Funny how when they returned a short time later, each kid was riding his own bike! Maybe some of them moved out to Bellmore, and their kids are keeping up the old family traditions.

Maybe it took them a year and change to figure out what you were trying to allege in the incident report. What I just read certainly only barely qualified as having been written in English.

Can't wait to see what Mommy and Daddy have to say to News 12 when they're being hauled off to the slammer. This should be good. "Oh he told us that his friends gave them to him"! You;ll be reading a lot more about the low life kid in the years to come.

Hopefully those dirt bikes will be returned before the weekend, so their owners can head for the Pine Barrens for some riding.

Here comes the time warp-this stuff was happening when I was a kid in Merrick. My bike was taken from my back yard by kids from Freeport, Uniondale...where were those parents? where were the cops? Well I hope the cops get ALL who are involved, and get the parents too. I hope justice does what it has to. The parents should also do some time. Little theives.

This is just practice for the big-time. Soon it will be car theft.
Then the Parents better clean out the bikes to make room.
