Who cares? If you don't like it, try making it on your own. There's the door. Have a nice life and don't come whining back when you realize that I, as one who has already been there, was right.

i think both of you are peices of crap. and why are you even in this thred. And as for your 13 year old son. you dont know what he does in his time by himself just like my parents have no idea what horrors in their eyes i do. No you dont so screw you and shut up!
I really don't care what you think. Having lived to the ripe old age of 15, or 16, you hardly have the knowledge, wisdom, or experience to even begin telling me about anything. I know where my kids are, what they do, and with whom (yes WHOM) they are with.Do you want to know why I know? Because, I love my kids!!! Have you ever thought that the reason that your parents don't care what you do is, because, maybe, your parents don't care about you? Or, at least, more about themselves than about you.

I love how kids are so big and bad sitting in the house bought, or rented by their mom and dad, typing on their parent(s) computer, or the one that their parent(s) bought them for their birthday, or Christmas, using the electricity bought by their parent(s),clothed in garments bought by their parent(s), warmed, or cooled by the utilities paid for by their parent(s), fed by the food paid for by their parent(s), then they have the audacity to tell parents (like me) how things are going to, or should, be. You wouldn't last a day at a job with that attitude, nor would you last a day at my house. There is nothing that says I owe my children anything, so they're free to leave at their earliest convenience. However, if they choose to stay under my care and financial obligation, then they'll do it my way UNTIL they're free, or prepared to take on life on their own. As a parent, I am to prepare my children for the cold, hard realities of life, not give them some delusion that everything in the real world will go their way just, because they want it to.

Why should you wear a hat to school, its not sunny inside or raining, and guess what the new principal is in charge, she can choose to inforse the dress code as she sees fit

The big thing with not wearing hats in public buildings is that it is in honor of our United States Flag. THATS why you don't get to wear hats in school. Not because your principal is a jerk or because some grouch on the school board said no, but because its respectful to take your hat off in a public building, or at a dinner table or in a church. Hats are practical but they are not necessary in school.

I have been a student at East for the last two years and I am glad that we finally have a dress code. The kids with ripped jeans need to get a life! Some day if I am a boss, I would never hire sloppy looking people. Wake up and smell the roses. I have a better idea. Let's all wear feed sacks to school. Maybe the cows will hire us after we earn our diplomas.

I haven't seen many sloppy looking kids/people on my end of town.
I came here from NC, so Omaha is what I would call a "blessing" if I were religious.

I think the reason is to prepare you for the grown up world..Soon you will be entering the work force and guess what most employers have a dress code..I would think you would want to dress appropriately in clean presentable clothing..

Actually, I can say it the parents fault because I control what my 16 and 13 year old wear and I buy the clothes..If the jeans are ripped they go in the trash..plain and simple..Young ladies should always want to carry themselves as such..wearing revealing clothing is not very lady like or appropriate for school..Young men should be expected to do the same..No one wants to see your under wear they are called UNDER wear for a reason..

When I was in high school back in the 80's (in florida)boys had to be clean shaved and hair short..If you came to school dressed inappropriately you were sent home or kept in the in school suspension and your parents were called...

First, the trend, boys pants falling off their butt, is bad. Who ever wants to disocate their hips for a trend is STUPID!
Second, I think dress codes are needed and should have been enforced a long time ago. It's the head peoples fault for not doing that. I don't like to see girls shirts plastered to their body or boys clothes falling off them from being 15 sizes too big!
Also, the chearleaders uniform and track shorts should cover more.
Some people don't like to see weird, stupid things on peoples shirts or where ever

Dress however you want on your own time, NOT school time.

There's nothing wrong with wearing a tight shirt.

What I don't understand is how people figure that holes in the legs of pants is indescent. I mean, as long as it's not on the crotch, you're not really revealing anything, are you?
Also, certain symbols shouldn't be banned. Like, if I wanna wear a shirt with a pentagram on it, I should damn well be able to without people staring at me!!!
