Dozens of arrests made at weekend music festival
The Peoria County Sheriff's Office says about 30 people were arrested at the 6th annual "Summer Camp" music festival in Chillicothe this weekend.

Things must be pretty slow in the backwater of Bellevue for your local boys in blue to have to waste their time and resources busting kids for dope. What a waste. I hope they're proud of themselves.

I agree. A festival of 10,000 and only 30 arrests. That is nothing. It would probably happen at a Barbra Striesand concert. It also isn't too bad for the chamber of commerce I'm guessing. I'm hoping there are another 6 Summercamps! |

at least leave the ones who are drinking, smoking pot, and eating mushrooms alone, plus you know how much money we bring to your town each year? 30 is a small number I will say thanks for being understanding

i am one of the arrests that were made. it's bullshit the what they are making me go through for my first time ever being arrested.

no doubt they should spend their time and money on more usefull things..the dont have anything else better to do besides ruin our fun......

Well, you all should do more investigating. Did you know there was a kid stuck by a needle, during the clean-up a couple years ago?!
Stop doing drugs! And grow some damn brains!!!!!!! |

Yep, that was thirty less people on the road, wasted, looking for an innocent person to kill.

LOL! Just because people drink or smoke pot you assume they then go try killing innocent people? I think I can safely say you are a bonafide moron for makng a blanket statment to that degree aimed towards an entire culture of people who like to have a good time, relax, and hear some good music.
Dealers, heroin addicts, and crack heads have no place in the world other than cleaning their lives up, as far as I am concerned, but a lot of the people who go to these festivals and have a drink or smoke a joint are hard working people who need an outlet to just blow off some steam and they aren't hurting a fly. That is a FAR CRY from delinquints loose on the roads looking to kill innocent people! Seems to me like you watch to much t.v.(probably after school specials, and DEA sponsered P.S.A.'s!) It IS possible to have a recreational weekend without somebody dying. Your overdramatics are honestly more entertaning than they are ANYTHING I would take seriously. |

Last i knew Pot was illegal...so knock it off. Quit your bitching, you got caught.

I've been going to hippie music festivals for years, and I can safely say this is the WORST. It is terribly managed, and frankly, its a carnival on crack.
I'm a live music enthusiast 'til I die, but I must say that this weekend has changed my life. I've seen a lot of messed up stuff in my life, but I've never seen so many people messed up on hard drugs in my life, and it was pretty fucking scary (And I'm 23....I've been around). To those of you who got busted, sorry. Don't come to festivals to work drugs....its the people like YOU that give dead heads a bad name. Grow up. To those of you who are confusing "Legality" with "morality"....read a book. Try a dictionary for starters. No one should judge anyone for what they do privately in their own time, but there were a LOT of young kids at this fest, and very few "adults" were good examples for these poor kids. Somebody pray for the jam scene....it's hanging on by a thread. |

I have to take exception to your quote. It was far from being in a private place, it was public. If they want privacy do it at home, then maybe they will be so wasted they won't want to come because they would be too incapacitated to move. Me thinks you need to check a dictionary for the difference of public versus private. |

Who is getting overly dramatic?? I think you need to read your own post before hitting the "post comment" button. I don't think anybody looks to go out and kill someone, unless you're a serial killer. But, when you deaden your senses and then drive, well, I think the statistics speak volumes for themselves. |

Clucker.....
You proved my own point. Re-read what I said. I wasn't saying that Summercamp was private.... |

Hey Clucker, check the statistics for marijuana and deaths. There are none. Marijuana is our gateway for equality. One love, one heart. Smoke a joint together and feel alright. I'm not blasting you by any means, and I do respect your opinion (in some points). If your going to rip on people for smoking some weed, I am sorry, but that is plain propaganda ignorance.

I have no problem with people firing up a joint from time to time...I used to do it a lot in my youth. Matter of fact I enjoyed it. I do miss it though, been fifteen years since I've done it. My job, though requires random drug tests. If I test positive, I lose my job. I also don't think heavy drug use and driving is a very good mixture. It does impair your judgement. That, I know isn't propaganda. |
|
Clucker, you quoted the text and cut it off at the comma, like a total moron. How about I paraphrase YOUR quotes to suit my case.....
"I have....a joint from time to time.....I enjoyed it.....I think....heavy drug use and driving is a very good mixture" Wow...that was easy. Now....I was saying that no one should judge what people do in private, whether it be legal or illegal is beside the point......obviously Summercamp was public place...that was the fucking point you idiot. And you DO confuse legality with morality. Hell...you probably even voted for Bush. Go watch some more "Reefer Madness" so you can make more "stellar points". You and Karl Rove would get along well...if you even know who that is. |
|
|
Clucker...you moron. You continue to prove your stupidity to us all. Not only did you paraphrase and misrepresent my quote, but you still don't understand to gist of what I was saying. You must not read a lot.
Here...let me misquote you on something: "I....think heavy drug use and driving is a very good mixture". YOU MONSTER! Someone get Clucker off our roads before she MURDERS someone. moron...read a book. |

Only problem with your comment was that when you "paraphrased mine you mixed it up. Nowhere did I mix yours up. Who is the moron here? Trouble with the world now-a-days...we have young punks like you that need a lesson or two in manners. Bet your Daddy married his sister and out popped you. Or maybe it was the other way around, your Daddy got his sister pregnant and out popped you, then they got married. You think you have all the answers, you haven't a clue. |
