I would like to know how I can get in touch with Gary Stimely, president of Babe Ruth. My son has been playing baseball since the age of 4. He is now 15, chose to do track and field for IVHS along with baseball. He has practice from 3-5pm then goes straight to baseball practice until 6:30pm. His coach decided to cut him this evening because he is doing track. This is the kids last year. Why punish him for wanting to do more than one sport and something he loves. Last year boys from the baseball team did highschool ball and still got to play on the team. This is town ball, something the kids enjoy, keeps them off the streets and you have to cut. That is so unfair !!!

I don't know you, your son, Gary Stimely, your son's coach, or anything about the facts and circumstances regarding the situation you describe.

I'll give everyone the benefit of the doubt and make the leap of faith that and the other people in this story are well intentioned. Clearly, this, should be discussed privately between the parties involved. Maybe some folks will learn something about compassion and dedication.

Keep making noise Karen , that privacy milroy talks about will get you nowhere. You already stated the facts that your son was released from the baseball team because he is out for track at school , But keep in mind that the relationship between your son and the baseball coach will suffer is you go over his head , so your son will have to put extra effort into it so he is above that . Playing more than one sport has been around forever.

Not trying to rub salt here, but are you being realistic about your son's abilities? As an old coach, I find it very unlikely that any coach would cut a 15 yr. old that he thought could contribute to the team this year. With 13yr. olds playing prep ball, the only reason I can think for cutting a 15 yr. Old (other than behavior issues) is that the coach thought there was a younger player who had a better chance of contributing to the team this year.
Also you need to keep in mind that kids playing HS baseball are practicing baseball when not at a Babe Ruth practice. While it may seem unfair, it is in my opinion, a committment to becoming a better baseball player.

There's 2 of them listed in the phone book, both in McVeytown. I'm pretty sure that's where he lives so try calling.
