Yep, our 9 man PD "gave all their efforts" and in only eight months found and caught their boys. Now if they could only find out why there are always at least 6 police cars parked behind the building. I've counted 8 cars at some points. And we wonder why the borough can't find the money to fix the streets. Maybe Lyin ' Bill could assign his crack investigators to tell us.

Actually it wasn't his guys that did the leg work. No mention of Regional PD SRO officer giving vital info to ID the people. Same ole Herkert just a different place. All a out look at me, just like all the cars sitting around.

I don't see why they really need more than one car anyhow? If you ever see them pull somebody over even for something as simple as an expired inspection, etc. the other car on duty always comes flying in at full speed with lights activated to the same spot anyhow to stand their and intimidate the "criminal" lol.

Why don't they just ride everywhere together and save us some costs?

The second car arriving has the "Police Officer for Dummies" handbook.

West, you need to consider getting the Barron sign out of your yard. He is clueless when it comes to the judicial system. Normally your post are accurate and spot on but Barron is not the answer.

Barron may or may not be the answer that we seek. I can think of several good candidates that surely thought about giving it a run but may have decided that Searer would win and then wait it out until Searer retired so they could be appointed to fill his term. Same could be said of Judge Williams. Rumor has it that he is thinking of retirement as well. I do not believe that Searer is the answer and must be replaced before it costs us a fortune to pay him as Senior Judge if he is re-elected and retires in three years. People got sold a bill of goods when they elected Molek. It was a bait and switch from the word go. Will they have faith that Barron will be a different story? Time will tell.

Barron just isn't a good Attorney and to put him as judge would ruin this county for sure. To vote for him merely because Searer will be made a senior judge is just as bad as getting rid of Snook. This county is failing big time right now when it comes to protecting the citizens against repeat offenders. Our Judicial system is considered a joke to everyone outside looking in. Why make it worse.

This county has been a joke for a long time as far as the justice system, you're right about that. How do you change that? You get rid of the people keeping it that way. Vote change, Vote Barron.

Searer reaching Senior Judge is not the reason for my displeasure with him. It is the result of our unwillingness to attempt a change. I desire to see him replaced for the very reason you cite,we are not protecting our citizens by any reach of the imagination. I may stand corrected but I do not believe he has to accept the plea bargains offered in his court. Sentencing is another issue. Stiffer penalties could be handed down as well. A mere slap on the wrist and a promise to be a good boy do not serve our community well. All I know is that what we have does not work and has not worked for almost 30 years. Only a fool watches the same movie over and over and expects a different ending.

Well N, I don't know what is worse watching it over and over again waiting for a different ending of watching and knowing what the ending is. You tell me. Didn't the Boro want a change and look what they got. NOTHING and spent a pile of money trying to get it. Barron is clueless as an attorney and you want that in office knowing the result would be no different. At least Searer has a little smarts and he is by no means a good choice either in my book, but way better than Barron. Sure if someone better was running they'd get my vote but surely not Barron. Hey here is a better idea, Lets just give the Job to the painted clown who is running the Boro. Same result would happen. Hows that for change.

Let's back up for a moment. Molek was enlisted to run for DA (which he did as a Democrat- no less!) coincidentally after former DA Snook prosecuted some locally-known ne'er-do-wells. Molek is a typical small-town lawyer as was his predecessor, Steve Snook. How this type of experience translates to the District Attorney's office is unknown since we in effect have no local news media to weigh in on matters of local importance.

The entire unsavory episode once again made it clear the county DA should never be an elected position lest it become politicized and thus tainted. Populists won't like it, but top law enforcement officers such as attorney generals and district attorneys should be selected by commissions appointed for this purpose, not the voting public.

Molek's assistant is running for county judge. If successful Mifflin County Court will have a Tea Party DA and one *presumably* Tea Party county judge. This smacks of an attempt to 'run the table'- as it were.

I say *presumably* because the Tea Party, like the Christian Coalition before them, doesn't enjoy a plurality with the voting public so it must run 'stealth' candidates. This should all be out in the open but reference my earlier remark concerning the lack of any effective local news reporting. There is no transparency in Mifflin County, just a bunch of juvenile cloak-and-dagger stuff.

Don't get me wrong; I'm no fan of Searer. If you will recall, this was the guy who pitched a fit when it was proposed to build the new jail on township property, which is where it should have been built in the first place. His meddlesome interference cost the county hundreds of thousands of dollars, which makes his increased pension as Senior Judge look like a pittance!

This election is about selecting the least-worst candidate for county judge.

It looks like Barron is well on his way even without independents,so when Independents can vote in November, Searer might just start packing his bags now.

Maybe, maybe not. Independents might go with Searer, not to mention there's not near the turnout usually as there will be in November. Only time will tell....

At least with Snook gone, the corruption that was taking place in the office went with him. Searer needs to go, and he will.
