<quoted text>Very sanctimonious of you Mark, isn't it nice to be the rare one that takes the unpopular high road? On the other hand, how about all the heinous, brutal killers like the famous O.J. whose acquittal was a lasting disgrace to the legal system, and those dishonest shysters who have made a shambles of our legal system? You O.K. with that?

Im much better with a guitly person going free than a innocent person serving time. The guilty who get off will almost always commit a crime again look at OJ.

I question Newsday. Why did the newspaper deem it necessary to give Mr. Keahon a full page, free advertisement??

Hats off to Bill Keahon. Many defense lawyers go along with the "program", for lack of a better word. He actually fights for the rights of his defendants, which is a rare quality in the nassau county courts. Most lawyers try to get the accused to plea so they can get paid and move on to the next case.In the nassau court system, the accused are usually over charged and after arraignment are held at the jail and the case adjourned past the preliminary hearing stage in order to guarentee the defendant stays detained and when asked they say the defendant refused to go to court. This is only one of a long list of breaches of ones constitutional rights that are ignored in this county. The worst part is nobody cares until it happens to them.Of course if the accused has money then things are different. But for everyone else its business as usual

its important to have lawyers like this to help insure no innocent man gets convicted, if a guilty individual walks it can be blamed on the DA,

Hypocrites, ALL OF YOU who complain about an attorney doing his job to protect an accused under our Constitution. Hypocrites, because if any one of you get arrested and could afford it, he is the first guy you would call. Now crawl back to your caves.
