do we honestly have nothing more important to complain about, even if he was campaigning,he was still doing the job,i saw not one complaint of the quality of work, just the person who did it,while nitpickers can see it as coniving,he did what needed to be done, when as far as i can tell, there was no one else to do it

Find something to do Bellerose. Unbelievable. Get yourselves together and try to accomplish something besides infantile infighting, this is retarded.

What a waste of resources.

The other politicians can piss and moan all they want about his stepping into the breach in a time of emergency and discomfort, at the expense of this own vacation but the fact is that he did it and with the permission of the Mayor no less.

That they are attempting to back seat plow is childish, pathetic and sad. What are we here, second graders or less?!

You know,my usual morning involves perusing headlines in other states, but i can by far say that this is the biggest waste of a communities time i have discovered so far,i honestly would vote for the guy for him having the brass ones to get out and do it,because i for damn sure wouldnt, everyone who is complaining is has stooped even lower than he did by making a fuss out of it,if these were the kind of people representing my community,i would seriously rethink of whose salary my taxes were paying

If Yao Ming fell down in Bellerose he would cover end to end. What's the big deal. Try fixing your stupid parking meters, big shot, small minded would be politicians. This is not the student council!

Why is this considered news? Isn't there anything else going on in the world besides this?

I agree. I wish he was a trustee of my village. During the Valentine's day snow/ice storm, my street didn't get plowed until it all turned into a 3 inch sheet of ice. I was very surprised Sunday when my street actually got plowed within a couple of hours of the start of snow fall. Let's hear it for the snowplowing trustee!!

The "snowplowing trustee", Mr. Brandt, hasn't held down regular employment in at least a decade.

I find it amazing that someone who has been collecting disability for 10 years or more is able to plow snow.

After reading the article I have to ask "Why is Newsday reporting such an insignificant news story?".
The only clear answer is that Mr. Murphy was an invited guest of Trustee Brandt to witness his soliloquy "The Plight of The Commonman".
Isn't this the Trustee who complained to Newsday previously that he was refused documentation that he requested from the Village clerk? What was the outcome of that newsworthy article ?
The attorney noted that there are liability issues at hand with Trustee Brant operating the snow plow. Where was the Village employee who normally handles the plowing - Who does he report to? Mr. Brandt.
It's obvious that Trustee Brandt seized the moment to campaign but put the "Village" at risk with his antics.
Is this guy mayoral material - I won't want him over seeing my tax dollars.

What ever happened to the beautiful, friendly town of Bellerose Village. Seems like the present mayor has taken the focus off her ineptitude by making Mr. Brandt a monster. Mr. Brandt is no bargain himself, no one on the board is a thief so stop with the accusastions of wrongdoing. What does the board do other than send out flyers calling each other liars. If you are not able to get along and do the job you were elected to do resign,. We once had a lovely town to live in, the Mayor and board are an embarrassment to us. Note to all residents: How about a write in vote on Election Day.

As is to be expected, the people who are writing nasty comments about Rose Shea don't have the courage to attach their names. I didn't attend the meeting, but I know that Rosealeen is a good person and an excellent trustee.

I have been to meetings with Mike Brandt, and, while I agree with him about a number of things, there is no doubt that he deliberately likes to stir things up. I'm sure that he had good intentions when he jumped in to help with the plowing, but the appropriate question is, where was the contractor who was supposed to do the plowing in the first place?

I have no problem with a reporter from Newsday coming to the village meeting. This is a public forum, but I'm tired of Bellerose Village being a laughingstock. It's time to face the facts, this village is too small to exist as an independent entity. Other villages have sanitation departments that sweep the streets. Evidently we have reached the point where we have to rely on "whoever's around." Other villages have people who purchase and maintain the parking meters. We have to rely on a hardworking village resident who has looked into the replacing the meters on her own time. It's time to give serious consideration to merging with a larger village, preferably Floral Park.

"where was the contractor who was supposed to do the plowing in the first place? "

He told 3 different trustees 3 different excuses, apparently...

And didn't the mayor state back in November that Bellerose is a Village that relies more on volunteering because of it's small budget? And that volunteers are welcomed?

Come on. Our rude and vulgar clerk Rosemary makes $75,000 a year to do her pathetic job of making a bad impression on the village. Dont tell me EVERYONE doesn't have a story about HERv(Rosemary Stimpfel).
