LIRR to offer bus service along closed Hempstead line

An interesting story might be how the LIRR implemented major grade crossing eliminations, route relocations and bridge installations 40 years ago when a switchover could be made in the 40 minutes between trains.

And of course, concurrent with that would be how much a weekend of bus service like this costs the taxpayers through the MTA budget.

Mind you it requires more work than retyping a press release ...<g>
