I know people who own a pit bull and she is the sweetest dog I have ever met. I have no fear of being around her. If the dog attacked the individual as is indicated in the clip, it is the fault of the owner, NOT the dog. If the pit is raised in a gentle and loving home and not as an agressive/guard dog as most pit bulls are, the chances of them being dangerous and deadly are very minimal.

I think every dog breed has the ability to attack. Poodle attatcks never make the news, not flashy enough.

Actually "pitbulls" do not have lockjaw, it is scientifically impossible.

I am sorry about your dog but dont judge all bully breeds because of a few. I had an American Pit Bull Terrier when I was 13 and she was killed by the neighbors Lab and Golden while I was walking her, and she was on a leash.
Here is the histoy of the APBT.

They look really similar dont they?

Funny....every decade, it seems that whatever "ghetto" preferred dog happens to be in style- makes the news as being a vicious killer. Turn on BET and catch just about any video....fat cottage cheesed women in string bikinis standing next to a P.O.S. car with 24 inch rimsand, yup- you guessed it...a pitbull with a Gucci knock off collar.
Pit bulls, in my opinion, have a predisposition for aggression. Disagree? Read up about the origins of the breed. Are they all bad? no, but I wouldn't trust one to be in my home with my family....

I really dislike these dogs. I do believe that they have a natural instinct to be aggressive. No matter how you raise them. This breed was invented, yes I said invented, for fighting. Not to be used as a pet. COme on people. You buy these dogs and wonder why you get attacked. Do some research before purchasing an aggressive animal. It's like say I didn't that that snake was going to bite me even though it's a rattle snake. I raised him to be gentle? It's stupid.

my neighbors pit bull got out of their backyard , it attacked a stray dog.

it had intent on killing the stray, an unprovoked attack, it was horrifying.

I grabbed my pistol and shot that dog in its stomach, it still refused to die.

I shot again in it's head, killing it.

my neighbors phoned the police, but they were the ones who were fined.

Ii adopted the stray, and it has recovered from its bite marks.

If i had to do it again, i would do it without a second thought.

pitt bulls are killers, it was a pleasure watching it die.

I don't intend to start an arguement, but has any of you watched Cesar Millan's show, The Dog Whisperer? He works with a lot of fighting breeds of dogs. I agree with him. I have seen more vicious little dogs, like poodles and pinchers, etc that have bitten people and drawn blood. Do the neighbors of these dogs owners call for them to be put down? No. The majority of dogs, regardless of breed, can be controlled, if the owner is willing to work with the animal on a full time basis.

I am so sorry for anyone who has had a bad experience with a pitbull, german shepard, or any other big dog, fighting breed or not, and has suffered a loss. You only hear about the tragedies of these dogs, not the blessings and help they give to people. There are people and places that can help animals with their issues. Check into those. I really do think they help the animals and their owners.

Pit bulls get so much flak because they are powerful and cause a lot of damage when they do attack. I put the blame on the owners for not controlling and training their dogs. One of the sweetest dogs I ever met was a pit bull.

I ran across a petition on him. Says he hits the dogs, and jerks them too hard on their collars. etc, didn;t have even 100 signatures. Not sure what it is all about.

the Gibson Co Humane Soc.. is a pit bull rescue. They have several pits. However, due to lack of donations they are going to have to close their doors. If you would like to adopt a pit please contact the Gibson co. HUmane Soc.

I would like to share a story about a pit bull. I visited my daughter and in that neighborhood there are a lot of pits. One had been tied out on a chain. He did have a small shelter but never went in it. As I passed there mt after mt. he was getting thinner and thinner. We stopped to ask a neighbor about it. We thought the people had moved and just left it. She and others had been feeding it some. One day as we passed it again just sitting there like it did all the time. I quickly pulled over and we snatched him up and I had to take him home for the night til I could get to the shelter. I put him in the garage. I put a bone, food, and a pillow. He was very sweet. I watched him throught the window and he turned around several times and managed to get all his feet and whole body on that pillow. He was good. Didn't tear a thing up or bark or whine. However I have 3 other dogs. Some little breeds. I didn't want to take any chances with them. I took him to the Humane Soc. and as I walked in someone right there said we'll take him. I hope he got a good home. He was so pitifull. But I could see in his eyes that he now knew that life could be better. It wasn't because he was a pit that I didn't keep him. More that I have enough dogs already. I bet he made a great dog for someone.

I have a pomeranian that has been attacked twice; once by a german shepherd and once by a pit bull, both times she required surgery in order to live. My pomeranian is EXTREMELY friendly with all dogs. I have introduced her to probably almost a hundred dogs and all she wants to do is play. She has played with everything from a Chihuahua to a Great Dane and never had problems. I know the problem isn't the dog, it's the owner but people who want their dogs to be vicious get pit bulls.

Dogs are like the owner. If you are a mean person and you treat your dog with crulty your dog will respond in the same way. A dog is only as mean as the owner. I have seen dogs that was known to be the best pets turn into the dog from hell.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Libra

You're at your most idealistic and romantic today, which is saying something. You have no desire to come into contact with brutal reality unless you have absolutely no choice in the matter. Instead, you want to float away into a world of your own, preferably accompanied by someone utterly wonderful. However, don't fall into the trap of kidding yourself about something or someone, especially if you know full well that this will break your heart further down the line.
