Then why are they taking the food for themselves? I've seen it myself! Someone needs to investigate that.

Some of the workers at community action. I did volunteer work there and saw some of them taking food and putting it in there car. The one head lady hooks her family up with food all the time, like box loads of it and their all over weight.

i've been a volunteer there for almost 5 years and never have seen any being "hooked up" with food. tell me when you volunteered there?

how many trucks have you unloaded? how many food drives with the post office did you do, driving around in your own car picking up food? how many bags gave you packed? how much food have you sorted? how many time did you unload the trucks in curwensville? sort food there? help during the distribution day?

some people have their food delivered, that takes putting it in a car. many volunteers who are there are eligible for food, that means they have to take it home. do you want them to keep it there and consume it? most people there put in hundreds of hours a year, how many did you put it?

besides the few people who are there most of the time and the students who come in, very, very few people come down and volunteer their time unless they got caught doing a crime.

Question to those that do volunteer at the local food banks... Do they have things that kids can help with? I have an 11 year old that I would like to get into volunteering, but don't want her to be more in the way than she is help. I have emailed the red cross and other local agencies with suggestions of how to get her involved, but have never received a response.

So how come you didn't report this when it happened?

If it happens all the time you must have been there long enough to do something about it. Why are you just now saying something? Did someone there make you mad?

The lady told me they were allowed to take stuff but I just think its messed up there are so many people out there who need the food and the workers are getting to it before the community.

My neighbors have been going to the food bank for as long as I can remember but they always have money for Sheetz coffee cigarettes and lottery tickets. I'm sorry, but if you have money for these types of things you have money for food. The foodbank should be for people who are having a real problem getting food, not the same old moochers year after year.

There has beeen study after study completed and they all seem to come to the same result.
Food banks are not needed in the U.S.
The more food banks the more percieved need for them. None is starving around here.
Show me 1 person that has died from starvation around here.
