Yeah, youve got that right. About ten years back I was seeking 20-30 dollars to buy a cheap dress shirt and kahki pants for a job I was starting. I called them to see what they would offer for a psone system (this was before PS2 was out), a hardshell guitar case with a lock/key and I had two VHS movies. It was a female I was speaking to, she said I could bring the stuff in but they would really only be interested in the movies and they give $1 per movie. Sure, I was gonna drive down for $2. And speaking of VHS movies, once when I was in there a few years later a man came in with a garbage bag full of VHS. He told the guy at the counter that he called before before leaving the house and whoever he spoke to said they would give him $1 per movie. The guy at the counter told him they dont even buy VHS anymore. He then went to the back (I guess to speak to the owner about it), then came back out and told him he must have called a different pawn store. They did eventually offer him $5 for the whole bag, but thats a far cry from a $1 per and I know he must have had 20-30 tapes. I dont even visit the place anymore.

i agree this place sucks! my mom took in a brand new lawnmower that was used only once & they were only gonna give her 15 bucks! then a man pulled in beside her and gave her $50.00 for it!

everyone knows tri-state pawn is full of cheapskates and swindlers. they buy for well under the worth and sell for way over. I quit going in there to find things years ago.

i pawned my harley there for $5 . sure it cost me 22% a month but come spring i had kept it stored in climate control alll winter for less than 10 bucks . i think theyre pretty cool and heads up the owner use to be a female !

surely u did not take that serious. pawn shops provide a valuable service to many people who unfortunately often have no where else to turn . its one of the oldest businesses in the history of the world . seriously.

It's also a wonderful place to hock stolen stuff so you can buy drugs. What would people do without these fine establishments.

To Anti Jeff - To refer to JC Williams as a "cheapskate" is a gross fabrication. I have know JC since we were small children and know from first hand experience that he is one of the most generous, genuine, small town-heart as big as the world men you will ever meet. People on the outside have no clue to what extent this man has privately without applause extended his success and good fortune to those who have needed it. From charities to terminally ill children. As a witness to his selflessness I resent anyone claiming JC Williams to be anything less than outstanding. He is a young man from Catlettsburg who has made his way and continues to prosper. Never in his success has he forgotten or forsaken his family, his friends, his community. JC Williams was blessed with the golden touch. I personally hope his success continues and flourishes. Remember, jealousy is a sickness. Perhaps this young, strapping, goodlooking man accomplishes that which you couldn't. Has a beautiful wife, home and children, so why not bash him publicly. Merely to compensate for your own failure or shortcomings. Seriously man, it's ok to be jealous of JC, most normal people are! Just don't stand next to him or try and out do him and you'll be ok. As far as the "he used to be a female", is that the excuse you use to validate or rationalize your mancrush!

I get sick of the damn signs they post all over the place...they have LITTERED our county with them....I have driven through my neighborhood and litterally counted 12 of them posted on every tree, every utility pole, stuck in the ground...even on my dead end street!!! Its just RIDICULOUS!!!

My girlfriend bought a ring for me from them about four years ago. She paid $350.00 dollars for it. I know this because I was with her when she made the purchase. I went there about six months ago to sell the ring back to them and unfortunately did not have the receipt. They told me they would never have sold a ring like that for that much. They maybe would have sold it for twenty five or thirty and they would give me ten dollars for it. I laughed at them and walked out. I found the receipt a few weeks ago while packing and was completely tempted to go down there.

JC in school, didnt have a pot to piss in. He landed a relationship w/ his wife, and if it wasnt for HER FATHER, JC wouldnt have anything that he has now. He obviously forgot where he came from. When it comes to school fundraisers, his staff informs "he doesnt do that"...what he doesnt give back tot he community? What a class act...over course this is the skinny like dorky guy in Junior High running around trying to play bball and keep his status in the in crowd. He had Cher to help him with that though.
