<quoted text> All you did was offer an opinion. Bill clinton has a 66% favorable rating, according to you, these 66% are mentally deranged. You're making generalizations with no facts to back them up. Your opinion is your opinion, it means more to you than it does anyone else and just because your buddies who are likely to agree with you anyway, happen to agree with you on this, doesn't give it any more credence.
Let me give you a definition of what an Independent is
1.
not influenced or controlled by others in matters of opinion, conduct, etc.; thinking or acting for oneself: an independent thinker.
2.
not subject to another's authority or jurisdiction; autonomous; free: an independent businessman.
3.
not influenced by the thought or action of others: independent research.
4.
not dependent; not depending or contingent upon something else for existence, operation, etc.
5.
not relying on another or others for aid or support.
Our entire country is based on something called the Declaration of Independence. Were our forefathers mentally deranged because they longed to be Independent?
Your assumption that those who select a side are influenced by others is silly. You are either a conservative or you are not. Independents and moderates are just weak kneed liberals. Our forefathers devised a country that had opposing sides on purpose. Less than 20% of the population was willing to go for independence to begin with. Most like you chose to sit on their hands so as not look badly. Nothing can move forward without taking definitive steps and that means making decisions on way or the other.

How then in you independent and elite wisdom do you square the left being against the death penalty for bad people and for the death of innocent unborn? You got to be deranged to hold both those views in the same head. Good thing Mounds made candy bars for you fence sitters. One day you feel like a nut and the next you don't.

Sorry Jack - I think your only fooling yourself. The narratives people have in their head are made up of many different things. Mostly its from life experiences, cultural influences, the influence of others and spiritual and educational backgrounds. No one is without influence in their thought, we all have bias and to believe anyone doesn't and their thought is totally independent is not really possible.

I've known darn few honest liberals. None of you will admit that you want socialism. You'll waltz around the topic, but never admit it. Why? Because in your gut you know it is wrong and that freedom is the way. If you know that, then why don't you choose it? Because it takes work and risk and putting you precious butts on the line. Basically you are a bunch of feel good cowards.

<quoted text> What makes you think that your way is better than anyone else's? I don't need a radio personality or news program to tell me how to think. I make up my own mind, ideologies are too restrictive and offer few solutions. Everyone has good and bad ideas, let's take the best ideas from everyone and find real solutions, the kind that won't fit on a bumper sticker.
What information do you use to make up your mind?

That symbol was never intended to represent who I am. Are you that dense?

It' rather obvious from his self portrait he is a Republican who thinks a great deal of himself.

Yea Awoo- and your comment reflects what an arrogant twit you are. Now, go stand up when you pee and work out three times a week to prove yourself to be a "real man". That's the kind of jackass posts we expect from you

This is why I'm an independent, there is too much hostility on both sides.

Everyone has valid points, regardless if they agree with your politics or not.
I'm particularly bothered by GBA's assertions that anyone who doesn't buy into his way of thinking is somehow mentally deranged or weak.

The reason that Reagan had a successful Presidency is because he worked with the other side. He didn't call them mentally deranged or weak.

Good point. However, in my opinion we are all different degrees of mentally deranged, or we wouldn't subject ourselves to some of the crap that flies around on this forum. Lol.

#3. GBA never said what u accuse him of saying. What he said was that people like you, even if proof is offered, still continue to deny, offer no rebuttal, but instead, call names. "Mentally ill," or something like it, is the phrase that libs use to describe conservatives.
#4. The reason Reagan had a successful rein is because he believed some things & stuck to them. All this talk about The Gipper being a "work-to gether type guy, is an over worked talking point, and by the way, the great TIP ONEIL bad mouthed Reagan behind the presidents back. With libs & demos, compromise is a one way street.
