when i was young, we drank alcohol and smoked weed. there was a little bit of cocaine around but it wasnt a huge problem. now, we have all of this heroin and people are getting sick and dying everyday. this is unbelievable for Logan county. what is causing all of this? how is this stuff making its way here? why cant people just be happy smoking pot?

We had law enforcement in this county for years that would work with drug dealers instead of shutting them down. The tides have changed and we finally have law enforcement that is looking out for the well being of the community, but the problem grew too rapidly and now is going to take a while to clean-up.

They've done more shutting down drug operations in Logan County in the past year than they have in the past 20.

We just need to continue to fight.

heroin is part of the japanese culture that central ohio has embraced with tax incentives and so forht...excessive tattooing is anuddaha' yakuza trademark...

Yakuza......102,400 members
They are very prevalent in the Japanese media and operate internationally.

Yakuza syndicates are heavily involved in drug trafficking.

When yakuza members play cards with each other, they often remove their shirts or open them up and drape them around their waists. This allows them to display their full-body tattoos to each other.

Yakuza groups are also heavily involved in sex-related industries. Yakuza groups are known to deal extensively in human trafficking.

Yakuza activity in the United States is mostly relegated to Hawaii, but they have made their presence known in other parts of the country, including Fresno, Raleigh, Houston, Oregon, Denver, Chicago, and New York City.

U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Japan Organized Crime Group

The Treasury Department says the Yakuza is involved in drug smuggling, human trafficking, prostitution, and money laundering in the U.S.

The sanctions come target criminal organizations that "constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States." In addition to the yakuza, the Camorra mob family in Italy and the Zetas drug cartel in Mexico are named in the order.

Every one thinks they won't get addicted. After first dose, they are. Well, folks, if you are dumb enough to try it, you are doomed. Better you take your own life than someone elses. I feel bad for the children of addicted parents. (and grandparents)

Smith won't admit there is a drug problem or gang activity in the area.

Having wild bill the prosecutor go after druggies is quite the paradox isn't it!?

Yes heroin is a huge problem here in ohio or even in Bellefontaine, mattter of fact there was another death just 2 days ago. I personally know a lot of people from where I live that are addicted to heroin and it is very sad, but another huge drug problem that we have around here is crack. You try it one time just like heroin you are hooked, and you will lie, cheat, steal, just to get it, This is a very sad fact. People may not die from it like they do heroin but it destroys family alike heroin. It is very sad that our community has came to this. Many children has lost their children has lost their parents to this shit and it sad. I know that we in Bellefontaine have a drug task force team now and they are putting an effort in to get the drug houses and dealers off the streets but its going to take a while, but the problem is they get out of jail and go back to doing the same thing.

Heroin has been a problem in this county for at least the past five years. KEITH LEVAN has a history of "working with" heroin addicts but yet nothing seemed to get done until recently. Might I add that Keith Levan has since retired and as you might have noticed....the heroin busts are up. Levan knew of the problem years ago and continued to "work with" the addicted. What did we get from his "working with" the addicted? Many deaths and families destroyed. Shame on you KEITH LEVAN! Please Logan County Sheriffs Office and Bellef Police Dept, you can do far far better than Levan did! We are counting on you to clean things up. The RIGHT way!

He also had pregnant informants working for him and I'm pretty sure he had a relationship with one of them. Why not lock up the pregnant informant and give the unborn baby a chance, rather than bust somebody for the same thing she did/does.

It's like the knife and gun clubs in Dayton, Columbus and Chicago, They are taking care of their own. the drug addicts are killing themselves, and the Gays aren't reproducing, we will soon have a society that Hitler was striving for. Only the very fit will survive. That should help balance the budget.

Someone is on the money. I have two nephews, one here in Ohio and another in Arizona that are both heroin users. The reason heroin has become so prevalent is that it is plentiful and cheap by comparison to other available drugs. Most do not know that heroin is refined opium. Both are very addictive. To say once used hooked forever isn't true, but it is more addictive than most drugs and very difficult to detox from. It is no different than us drunks gravitating to cheap gin and off brand beer. Its cheap, that's why.

POS Keith Brown got it again! How many more times is OConnor going to let out this piece of CRAP! This is an outrage that he has the drug history that he owns and he gets $250 fine again! He is a KNOWN HEROIN DEALER and the LCSO and BPD both know it! What will it take to make it stop!

Just because some of the repeat offenders are obviously slow learners and don't get it together the first time getting in trouble, doesn't mean the court should lock them up and throw away the key. They offer you a chance to get better. If you aren't already a repeat offender. I'm glad I got a chance to prove I had learned my lesson. Yes I got punished, but I also did what I was expected to do and didn't try and still be an addict. I was ready for change and be done with my addition, but I couldn't do it. Every night I prayed to God to help me get past it and he sure did. It might of not of been the way I wanted to get help, but it got me where I wanted to be all along. With a little detour along the way.

Keith Brown needs to be sent away for a long time. He has lived in Metro, & Heritge Court, good field for his business.
