I explained why I didn't want to state my name. And I am sure "Sam" is your real name.....
Kind of like the pot calling the kettle black, isn't it?
I am not out to make those nurses look bad, they do a good enough job themselves.
I am out to protect my aunt and the other innocent people that live there. I will take the necessary recourse and let the State decide.

Your right. You shouldn't let something like that go. Our families are very important and deserve dignity. The Ohio Dept of Health needs to know that these kind of things are taking place. For our families.

"Concerned Citizen"..you are absolutely right. But I am familiar with the majority of the staff at heartland. I just find that it is odd that people don't feel as if they can address their concerns with those in charge. If the DON was one of the subjects at fault, then go to the administrator. I met him and he has a positive approach towards issues with the residents..I recomend that "NOTSURE" do the same, start with the administrator.

As I was visiting my aunt at HOB, I was overcome by the ignorance and lack of professionalism by Diane, Mary, and Molly. I took note to read their name tags after listening to them joke about another patient outside my aunt's room. I am seriously tempted to contact the State or the Ombudsman regarding this incident. I am sure the patient's family would find this interesting as well. What kind of nurse does this? And I hear that Molly is the DON????!!!! What kind of facility is this?
They were talking and laughing so loud that I am sure I am not the only one who heard them. am not disclosing my name as I do not want my aunt to receive any reprocussions.
MOLLY IS the DON. And no I'm not kidding. I heard her telling an inappropriate joke one day standing right in front of the nurses station.

Does anyone know how the tree auction went? I give heartland a round of applause for raising money for a worthy cause, Toasty Tots. Their generosity will make a difference in a childs life. To all the employees that donated or bought a tree..You all have big and caring hearts. Keep up the good work.

Maybe they should run a nursery instead of a nursing home.

Did you realize that part of the approx $4000 raised also went to Heartlands Activity Fund, aren't the residents already paying for their activities in their monthly $4000+ fee? Why didnt all that money go to Toasty Tots? That would have been great!

What activities? Seems like most are sitting in wheelchairs. Haven't most of the activities been stopped due to employe cut-backs?

Heartland is not that bad of a place. You have hard working stna that do what ever they can to take care of their residents. You also have hard working nurses except for Dian and Mary they just sit on their ass all day not doing a damn thing.

To "Dita" you are right..Heartland is a great place to work, with the exception of STNAs like you. ou give Heartland a bad name by bashing some of the nursing staff. ALL of the nurses are hard-working. If they do set on their asses all day, then how do they get their work done? How do the residents get their meds? How does the treatments get done? And if this was true, then administration would have already stepped in and intervened. Both of the nurses you mentioned, have been there a long time..both of them going to school for their RN. You need to focus on your job duties and make Heartland a good place for the residents, instead of making it miserable for every one!! Get a life or MOVE ON!!!

My aunt was a Heartland for Re-hab. I encountered several nurses. I do not agree with the comment from "dita". Thw two nurses you mentioned were the only two nurses that would answer my questions, and would always contact the Dr. if I requested it. "dita" should take lessons from these nurses, as they are role models for the facility. Keep up the good work Diana and Mary. Don't let the negativity of this site keep you from doing what you do best, which is taking care of others.

You people on this site are stupid. You get on here and criticize your co-workers. What do you think that this does to the reputation for the facility that you work for? People in the community access this site, and can read ALL the dirt on the place where you work. To "dita", whenyou start making accusations about the front line staff, community members read this and question if they would ever place their loved one in this facility because of your comments about the nurses. I wouldn't be on a web site making my place of employment look bad, especially if this is who is dispersing my paycheck week to week. Take your complaints to your supervisor, and stop jeopardizing this company and their census with your rude and obnoxious comments.

I don't understand why many people feel compelled to log onto topix to voice their conflicts with other people..particularly this facility. Why start a discussion on such an ascinine web site vs. go to the individuals and discuss them face to face? To "concerned citizen" how CONCERNED are you, if you are hiding behind a fictious name.?? If you did witness what you said you did, them why not spaek up at the time? Perhaps you are just trying to make 3 EXCEPTIONAL nurses look bad!!!
Cause this is how we do it!!! We look up stuff on here to see what people are saying so we know what is going on. I am not in the area any more but I am orginally from there. We are adults and smart enough to know that 1/2 of everything you read on here is crap. the other half is opinion. mine included. But I want to know what others think. So keep on posting to this site BELLEFONTAINE. It makes me stay in touch and keeps me laughing. Like the national enquirerer without 20lb newborns (yet). If I get even a little idea of something or give even the smallest bit of something (help) to someone then it may just be worth it!!!!

What makes YOU think this is anybody that adds a comment on here's workplace? Maybe it's YOUR workplace. I have a family member there and will never have another loved one placed there, that's why I post on here. People need to know the truth. Not just their advertisement you hear on the radio. People are intitled to the truth when sending someone you love in to a place to live, 24/7, and entrust their staff of taking care of the person you love. I know of some people that do post on here and they DO NOT work at Heartland. Most of the floor staff are great people and do the best job they can with what they are handed. But that doesnt mean they can get to eveyone and give them what they deserve. Obviously staffing needs to be adequate and supplies need to be obtainable for use as needed, not just "you get 3 or 4 and if you run out you're out of luck". Residents need to be clean, showered, free from incontinence smells, free from bedsores and presentable in the lobby. Not running around in a nightgown without underwear or at the nurses station. Their fingernails should be clean and manicured. I and many other don't believe this is much to ask for. They have the right to live a normal dignified life. Come on Heartland! Give it up on the money issues!!
