After processing payroll today at my business and having multiple employees approach me about their “pay cut” I felt compelled to start this topic. All of you who are in the “middle class” as are my employees that voted for Obama got duped. Most of my employees are taking between an $800 and $1500 tax increase. How do you feel about the “messiah” who has recently demanded that we cannot raise taxes on the middle class with the economy in the condition it is in?

Don't really know. I have not discussed with my accountant yet, bottom line is there is less money in their paychecks.

Anyone in business knows that there was a temporary suspension in payroll taxes. It was called a tax holiday. It has expired.

Sorry Grandpa my employee’s perception when they get less money in their pay is that their taxes went up. It is like offering me a discount for a product or service that I buy from you, the discount is removed so technically the price of the product/service didn’t go up but the net effect is the same.

I do not understand why your assumed Obama raised taxes and voters got duped if you did not know why your employees' take-home pay is less than before.
Imagine if Obama had not fought the House to renew tax cuts for those making $400,000 and less. Your employees would be taking home much less.

Guys that use the term "Messiah" while having a picture of an M-16A1 by their screen name cannot be taken seriously.
There was bound to be an increase in social security taxes.
However, if what you say is true, why don't you be a perfect employer and just give them a raise?? That would be the Christian thing to do.
Of course, since you are concerned about your employees getting the short end of the stick, just how concerned about them are you "really"?

1) Do your employees have a pension plan?
2) Do they have a 401K?
3) What kind of a health care plan do you provide for them?
Do you charge them weekly fees for healthcare?
4) Vision & dental plan??
5) How many weeks of vacation do you pay them?
After 20 years, do they get 4 weeks?

If you can't answer these questions, then you are just complaining about Obama, just like good tea party members are trained to do.
And if you answer no to some of these questions, if you really want to help your employees, you need to take a good look in the mirror, because that's where the problem is in relation to how your employees are being treated.
I could add a couple more items, but those that I mentioned should hold you for awhile.

Have a nice day.:)

When the amount of the take home pay decreases while the amount of taxes withheld increases, it is generally viewed as a tax increase. It does not matter if the cause was a temporary measure. It is all about the impression in the people's mind.

I found the discussion of this tax increase on the Democrat underground website to be quite amusing. Those liberals and progressives sure view it as a tax increase and are not happy about it.

Unfortunately for the unapologetic Obama supporters, logic is going to fail and Obama will take the approval hit for it. That is the way it works when Uncle Sam giveth and then Uncle Sam taketh away. The people do not care why. They just want it back.

Your employees must not be very smart, but I'm sure that you explained to them that it was all Obama's fault.

My fiscal year begins April 1st. At this point in time all employees will get a raise that will make up for the 2% increase they experienced. They are all paid based on performance, I do not provide a pension however I do provide a profit sharing plan, and the better we do the better we all do. I do offer health insurance as part of any compensation package although I do not have any employees at the moment that need it as they are covered under spouse’s plans. Vacation for an employee with 0-2 years of service is 15 days and increases two days per year starting year three. I believe you need to give a person ample time to enjoy time off with family, find another employer around here that gives you 15 days off a year the first day you come to work. I should also point out that I have very very low turnover.

Funny how you didn't give Obama credit when he cut taxes two years ago.

Didn't the messiah Ronald actually increase the SS tax?

Yes , your vacation package is very good.

No Pension or 401K is bad.

So if I am to understand your pay raises, if I were an employee of yours and had excellent ratings, I would relize how much in raises over a ten year period?

Paid holidays??

Paid holidays and raises that far outpace inflation if the employee adds to the bottom line, evil profit in liberalspeak. Pensions are dinosaurs, get used to that, not coming back. I belive in profit sharing, it motivates everyone to excel.

Pensions are only dinosaurs for those who do not want to pay them, all the while lining their own pockets. And the absence of at least a 401k is a glaring omission. Adecco even has a 401K plan and in a manufactoring setting may pay more than you do. You do have a very good vacation set up. But for a young worker just starting out, there are better places to go.

First it is clear you do not understand a profit sharing plan, second it is clear you do not understand a pension and third you probably do not understand 401k's. I am to tired to address it this evening but tomorrow I will address retirement planning, 401k's single premium immediate annuities and how they all tie in together, stay tuned....

LOL I never said I was an accountant. Their taxes went up because, well, taxes went up, that cannot be disputed unless you are a mental midget.
