Anyone know anything about these apartments? How are they? Are they well priced?

I like to refer to the place as Whispering Scrubs becaus the "pine trees" are anemic and look more like scrub trees.

They are subsidized, based on your income.

Whispering Pines used to be a decent neighborhood until they put those apartments in.

Makes it hard to sell your house with 'the ghetto' across the street.

It sure does.

As for the apartments themselves, I've been in one and they're nice places. Just remember the guy that got the sh!t shot out of him at one of those apartments, the cops being called there constantly, etc. About like Heritage or Red Bud.

Whispering Pines is another name for “Heritage Court”! It is without a doubt a crap-hole. A slum would be an improvement.

The pine trees are eastern white pines. They are supposed to look like that.

well sh*t, I'm new to the area and am looking for 3 bedroom apartments that aren't ridiculously priced, like the Penny Lane ones I looked at. They are decent apartments but I don't think they are THAT nice. I paid the same amount in Columbus for a 3 bedroom and got a yard space too!

Have you looked at the classified section of the newspaper? Last time I looked, there were tons of rentals listed.

Just to throw in my two cents here, Deercreek Apartments aren't subsidized. They're tax credit, meaning that there are income guidelines that a renter would have to be below depending on the size of their family.

Smiley, I would love, love, love to buy that house across from the "ghetto". But with the current credit crunch and the large price on said home, their is just no way.

Very few people in Btown make the kind of cash needed to 1)get the loan and 2) afford the monthly payment.

It was sold a few months ago...finally! I'm pretty sure the apts had a 'little' to do with the length of time it was on the market.
