Strike a nerve?? MARTHA? Is it not true? Criminals making a habit of escaping from the custody of the Logan County Sheriff..sounds like a trend to me.

Yes I am behind locked doors at my home along with my extensive collection of firearms......Baby!

Maybe you should know the facts corrections officer before spouting off about not understanding how this could happen. Due to "budget cuts" there were only two officers covering all those juveniles. Thats how it happened! Evidently you are lucky enough to have the proper staffing where you work.

You need to learn to read, but we have two officers at night also and the department of youth services which controls all juvenile centers policy states that if only 2 officers are on duty no doors to inmates cells are allowed to be open. Second all exterior doors are electronic controlled by the person in the control room exterior doors can not be opened by officer keys. That means at least 22 doors were unsecured or opened electronically which is officer fault. I don't understand how they can't follow policy and how someone messed up and opened the exterior doors for them

I just listened to the WPKO late night news from last night and there was nothing on it. Why is that? Shouldn't the people of Bellefontaine have been alerted? I in town and would have been looking around had I known. This broadcast was way after 8:30. Then on the morning news it was not mentioned until way after the election results. Again where was the concern for the people in Bellefontaine. Did they have access to a phone, was someone waiting with clothes, they aren't in orange jumpsuits walking around on the streets with a cell phone. How do they know they aren't in someones house right now holding them hostage until they can figure out what to do. DO you have someone you can check on that might be alone or you haven't heard from that you usually do. Call them and check.

I agree, it could be another Mrs. Green case.Surely they would have been found by now. Maybe they are hiding within the jail complex....

I agree to a certain extent, I have older parents and didn't call them last night because I know that they are good about locking their doors and their vehicles are in locked garages, but I did call this morning and check on them. But I felt no need to disrupt their sleep and scare them. But I did the good son thing and checked on them this morning. After what happened to Gladys and Russell last year you can't be to careful!!!!!!!!!

BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio (WDTN)- The Logan County Sheriff has captured two of the three teens who escaped from the county's Juvenile Detention Center.

The detainees made their escape after attacking a corrections officer Tuesday morning said Sgt. R. Furlong.

Danny Ellis, Jr. and Devante Smith were arrested at 3: 30pm by Cincinnati Police officers. Officers also recovered a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero that was reported stolen in Logan County earlier in the day.

Caleb Jacobs is still on the run. Jacobs, 17, was being held after being picked up on a warrant from Polk County, Fla. for burglary.

Ellis Jr. and Smith, both 15, are charged with probation violation.

I can read very well Corrections Officer, thank you. The point being made is you are judging these c.o's before you actually know all the facts. If there are only two working who is left to run central control? I hope in your career nothing happens that someone from another facility is quick to judge you and cite errors you may have made without being there.

Martha,

Did you watch that tape???

The guy they jumped was clearly taken by surprise. But the female officer seemed confused, like she had no training and no idea how to assist her fellow officer. Just my opinion.

I feel sorry for both of them, but....just watch the film.

I agree with you..it was like the female officer didn't know what to do...I sure hope she did have training...maybe she was just at a loss..
