Kenton Nationals was a landmark and an event I looked forward to attending every year. I have never found a place like it any where in this country or any other. I started attending back in the early 70s when I lived in Illinois and went year after year after moving back to Pa. There was an atmosphere that should be experienced by all Americans. As a college professor, I loved seeing real Americans relating to each other in a buy/sell environment. I thought it was a tremendous capitalistic endeavor in the true American spirit. I havent been there in the past 3 years since it is quite a distance from Florida where I now live. I stayed two days last time, but the golf cart traffic was so horrible on Friday night that I left early. I really thought about going back this year and am disappointed that Kenton National will not take place this year. I hope it comes back next year for the good of the community. It had to be a real boom for that area. I would love to have had 1 per cent of all money spent at that event. Anyone knowing of any place like Kenton, would you please email me at Bidderman@aol.com
Thanks.

Do not have all the info, but there is an event in Ft. Recovery Ohio the first weekend in October that is similiar. It has been growing the last couple of years because of the decline of Kenton.

20 year veteran. Mud,guts & glory but had a great time every year.My father was a vendor on row 22.When heard the show was cancelled it was like losing a good friend or my best plowing tractor breaking down.I made a lot of friends over the yrs. but only by name, never got any addresses. Good old farm boy's & laborers are hard to beat. If you think you know me, look me up at the show in Lima. Me and my dad will be set up there selling tools, telling jokes & farm stories. Hope to see Rich & Jim, retired coal miners from Pennsylvania. They set up by us in Kenton.

My husband and father in law went there this morning. They had no clue it was closed. They came from a little place in Ohio. I said to them that it reminded me of Wally World on National Lampoon's vacation. LOL

I went to Lima for the weekend and it turned out bigger than expected. Saw many familiar faces and had a lot of fun. I was told there were over 1000 vendors. I also heard that all the buildings were torn down at Kenton. I will be going to Lima again next year.
