Hey Ohiogirl nice Christian attitude! What is it with SOME people from West Liberty with this holier than thou, nasty, mean spirited attitude? It's weird, the town is only 6 miles from Bellefontaine but SOME West Liberty people are so crappy and unfriendly!

A few years ago one of my competitors closed who owned store “X”. I called him and offered to buy any and all inventory at my cost to help him out. He was so happy. Later as I was sorting through it, I made the comment to another customer that I hoped that store “Y” didn't go under too. They seemed shocked that I wanted competition. My reply was?

If there is only one of us in town, I can never ever take a vacation!

My point is that I eat at both places and both offer a good value for my family of seven and both have very good pizza. If I just want to shovel dough and cheese down the kids mouths we call Dominos. Why do we have to throw stones at each other - for them? All it is doing is getting sand in my Calzone! There are plenty of mouths in Logan and Champaign Counties to support both stores very well. I am sure neither one of them would want this thread to trash the other. I saw Keith eating in the Tiger Den a couple of months back with his church, so the blood must not be too awfully bad.

What do you all think? Can we all get along and love one another, and
ENJOY THE PIZZA?

I live north of West Liberty, my kids go to school there, and I own a business in Bellefontaine. I agree the two towns have their own unique personalities and we normally turn “up the hill” when we leave our driveway. The county is darn lucky to have them both - right? Oh, and don’t forget Michael’s Pizza in the north east part of our county. Didn’t he win some sort of World Championship in 2007? And what about 7 C’s in Lakeview in the 1970’s. It just could be that the best pizza on the entire planet is located in our towns, and we just can’t see the pizza for all the mud slinging’. Think about that!

Wow I just came here to see if people liked the pizza. I've heard good things through some co-workers. Was not expecting this drama-bomb.

Hahaha..if tigers den was half as good as fat boys they might get more business. The pizza is not the same at all. You feel welcomed at fat boys. Half the ime the employees at tigers den are yelling at each other!

Well, I'd say it is a piss, poor business practice to open up a same business 5 miles away from the business that you sold to someone else (especially since he claims to be a "brother")... But it is about the almighty dollar to some folks isn't it?:(
And as a side note: Tigers Den has been making and fixing gyros for over a year and THEY are fantastic!(Fat Boys isn't the ONLY one making them) as a recent newspaper ad claimed..... Fat Boys is closer to me, yes, but I won't darken the doorway after i read their recent front page "ad" in the Belf. paper and what I know about how F.B's does business past and present & (future? I hope the owner esteems others higher then himself...)
I must say, character is much more important to me then anything else and true character is beginning to show itself.
I have to comment on the owners of FAT BOYS buying a place 5 miles from tigers den. First, when the owner of FAT BOYS sold to the owner of the Den...the agreement was that the recipes used were sold too. Kinda interesting that everything he sold he is using now. And he did go to several business owners in west liberty and tell lies about the deals that he made and tried to make around town. He is a back biting unprofessional business owner and i'm glad he isn't in west liberty anymore! Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Several family members rave about Fat Boy's pizza. I am going to have to give it a try.

If it is unethical for someone to sell a business, then open a new store in a neihboring town, Gene Ginn would also be considered unethical. He signed a no compete contract in logan county when he sold his car lot. Now the county sign is almost in his businesses front yard.

The service at fatboys is very proffesional. Tigers den sold me a very poor quality pizza their first week after reopening. Swore that I wouldn't return. Haven't.

Actually, it is a free country and it has been built on entrepreneurship. I am guessing a person can open a business just about anywhere they want as long as they follow zoning laws and so on. Recipes can be sold, but if a person changes one little ingredient in the recipe it is considered a new recipe. Adding a touch of sugar or another spice that wasn't originally there. Recipes are revamped all the time. You can have a carrot cake recipe but if you add a half cup of sour cream that same recipe can become sour cream carrot cake. People ammend recipes all the time.

I agree with you I will never get Tigers Den...Pizza is poor and the people there are HORRIBLE! Alot goes on there and I'm surprised they are still open.
