DAN i have to level with you your kid is not the best on the team. The best thing for him to do on friday night would be to hold down the bench no matter how much you and him throw the ball around. The one thing you need to show him is not to throw interceptions.

i just have a few things i want 2 say, first of all i think all of the bad things being said about our qb position are blown way out of the water.in my last blog i was tring to show how politics controls some of out sports.i was giving an example how it shows up.it makes things unfair, but that is life.i am not putting down any of our qbs.i know some people have there own ideals on thar subject.if i have gave a different view, then i am sorry. let me tell you what i seen friday.my wife and i were leaving the game and it was a hard game to let go of,so we stood by the fence and was just watching people.i was watching coach cotner.he was walking toward the gate.his little girl run up to him and gave him a hug, than his wife .i couldnt help but to stair.i looked into his eyes and i could see the hurt in his eyes.we started 2 walk away and i couldnt forget what i had seen.so i told my wife that i needed 2 talk 2 him and then we walked over 2 him and he was still recieving hugs from hie wife and kid.i tapped him on the arm,he looked at me and i told him to keep your head up,it will get better,he said thanks.i know it has been 10 yrs. of losing and maybe that is way everybody are acting crazy,i know that look in his eyes were a reminder that he will soon get this going in the right direction.yes he is going to make changes to make this turn around happen.he has to see what coaches are going to work, what players he needs.it will happen,we need to quit making fun of the kids.they are talented, hard working, and that will rub off on other kids soon.as for our qb situation,i feel we are lucky 2 have 2 good qb,they both bring something different 2 the table.they are not the problem.they are best of friends.if you ask them who should be playing they would not say themselfs.they are team players.we need 2 support them when things are down.they need that.i am sorry for not getting my point across in a bettet way.

Thats ok you go ahead and use your cover up name but for me I will stick to the real thing~thats reality bud~Ummm the last time I looked wasnt the QB for the browns being paid around 24/25 million~hmmm to throw interceptions? not perfect~the last time I looked my boy was getting paid~NOTHING~he is playing for fun~so quit slamming on the kids~Im sorry you must be perfect~well your the ONLY ONE in the world then~because no one else is~set your kid on the QB and see how far he gets~hello REALITY!!!!!!!!!!

I thought you did a great job and got your first letetr across~it is those who dont understand that need explaining~your right Im sure coach was upset of the game those boys played hard~I have NEVER ever spoke with coach cotner so i can not tell you what kind of person he is,all i can say is my son plays for him and he will follow the orders that are given,
I think ALL of our football players are great kids,I would have NO problem with my own sitting the bench because if you ask me it is ALOT safer,so for those of you who dont know what your really talking about i think you need to sit back and take a look at yourself~nice post bud keep the postives coming.

Wow, that is low!! I'm sure this boy does the best he can and he doesn't deserve that. I don't even know him but that is just uncalled for. These are kids out playing a game they love and here it goes again... the PARENTS!!!! They have to ruin everything.

Id like to say thank you cuttin edge because thats my son and anyone who does know him knows what kind of person he really is,your right it is all about the parents~and when basketball comes it will be the refs/coaches and 3point shooters who cant make a basket, and then it will be baseball where it will be blamed on the umpires/coaches and the pitchers who cant throw strikes,i honestly feel sorry for all these young men and can only hope they are not reading any of the B/S on topix~cant anyone just have fun anymore?

Benjamin Logan schools has such a great complex and such a great booster program but why can't we hire a varsity football coach that can WIN some ball games .These kids work too hard to get beat all the time!
You must understand it takes time to build a team~last year we lost 7/8 seniors so Cotner had to build again, this year we will lose 15 there again alot of work for next year~anyone who has a good athlete knows that training DOES NOT come overnight,it takes many many years of reloading and rebuilding it has only been a couple years and look at all the players that have been replaced,if you thought you could have done a better job you should have applied for it,

Even though I live in B-town and am a chieftain fan, I always feel bad for the Raider Varsity team. Now don't get me wrong I really don't want them to beat the Chiefs but, I really would like to see them have some success. It has to be a drag to lose so much. I admire the fact
that year after year these young men sign up, work their butts off, stay out of trouble and get good grades in hopes of a better season. The hopefulness of youth!!!! You have to respect their willingness to keep trying.
I know I do.
Good luck Raiders with the rest of your season!
Stay Healthy!!
Thanks for the comment as well good luck with your season playing without your QB says alot for your team~play hard.

The one thing i don't understand about the coach is when his starting quarterback starts messing up with interceptions and turn overs he leaves him in that position he doesn't pull him.Don't take this as a bad thing towards the quarterback we just have two other boys on the sidelines that are as good as him.Take the Bellefontaine game for example we could have beat them if they would have pulled him .I was upset with the coaches after that game cause they were laughing coming off the field saying "well its just bellefontaine we never beat them".Also before the game the radio interviewed coach Cotner and they said it would be a rival and the coach said he didn't call it a rvial cause we have never beat them.
We would have never won that game no matter WHO the QB was~we had nothing as a team that night,we did not come to play,Bellefontaine had NO QB and they played hard,so there is NO WAY you can blame that game on a QB regardless who it was, obviousley you have NO clue what you are even talking about.

You are right. Too many parents trying to live thru their kids and thats the real problem. I just don't think ANYONE should take cheap potshots at kids. They are KIDS!!! Let them be kids. They are not olympic athletes getting paid as you mentioned earlier. If the parents would stay out of it I think it would take so much pressure off the kids. My nephew plays for Ben Logan so i wish them much success. I didn't go to Ben Logan/Bellefontaine game but after my kids came home and told me how great their cousin did for Ben Logan I wish I had gone. My kids didn't come home and brag about Bellefontaine they came home all pumped up because their cousin got to play alot of the game and did awesome!! See, its not the kids, its the parents!!!!

I am just curious why so many people are upset over this subject. Don't get me wrong I like to see my child's team do well and love when they win. The thing I don't understand is why so many adults seem to bash the student athletes when they make a mistake. I am a Ben Logan Grad.. and remember how good our football team was 20 years ago, and would love to see them that good again. I believe it is a combination of things that keeps the Team from winning. It can not all be put on the players or the coaches. I have sat in the stands as other adults, parents, etc, bad mouth the kids that are out on the field, court, whatever it may be. I may be crazy but I thought being in sports was about more than just winning. It is so disappointing to see the kids do their best and then have to listen to bitter men and women that complain about what they would do better or what their kid would do better. It is a game.... why not take your energy you have to slam on some high school kid and offer something useful to the team or the district. I see these athletes both boys and girls giving there all.. They deserve better than being bashed at the games and discussed in public. Be the example and show some class people.

Very well said,Im not sure why everyone is upset,im only defending my child who they are calling the GOLDEN BOY~he may be Golden to me but thats because he is mine~all of my kids are Golden,It was an exciting game and im sorry you missed it,we wanted a win but didnt get it,they just played a little harder than we did.bottom line, some people just cant accept that and want more,if my son gave 100% in my eyes we were winners already.nice letter,im glad your nephew got in as well im not sure who he is but im happy for anyone who gets in,I have no problem with my son sitting on the bench he is much safer, there are alot of good teams out there with alot of good players, weve got more to see.

Outstanding post Vantage Point. Kids should never be bashed on public forums like this. Not Ever. Just shows how a few parents with no class and little or no real athletic or coaching knowledge can behave so ignorantly.
