Do you think Bellefontaine could handle a new pizza place? I'm talking about a place with dough made fresh everyday, homemade sauce with several flavors to chose from, flavored crust, oven baked subs made from fresh bread and more. I know there are a lot of places in town but I don't think there are a lot of really good ones. I am considering opening one here and would like to see what the people think. I would also love to hear your suggestions about what you would like to see in a pizza shop. Tell me what you like and what you don't like about pizza and pizza shops. If I am going to put one in this town I want it to be a good one.

as you said, there are a lot of shops in town. Fresh dough, good toppings, an italian eatery atmosphere maybe. I like a pizza where you there is a thin layer of butter on the crust before the sauce. Also, noone serves a french bread Pizza!

I had no idea that no one serves French bread pizza. I will take that into consideration. I know what you mean about a thin layer of butter on the crust before the sauce, I have something like that. Keep the comments coming, this is what I'm looking for!!!!!

This would be mostly pick up and delivery. I hope to have some tables for dine in but space may be limited. I do agree about a fish place but I don't have the $$$ to open a big franchise like that, I wish I did. Maybe I could come up with a fish pizza!!!! LOL!!!!!

Why doesn't anyone use oregano anymore? I like banana peppers, not canned, but fresh. they used to make the best in St. Paris, year ago.
Sounds wonderful, are you going on South Main Street, too?

OOh! Yummy new pizza shop. I think that'll be great, Gab 4 U.

My only suggestion is to have employees that PAY ATTENTION to orders! lol Do you know how many times I get home and find the ingredients screwed up?

Please have them wear gloves properly, aprons (to keep their shirts from dragging through the pizza) and pleeee- ase don't play with their hair nor touch their faces with gloved hands.
These are the reasons I prepare and eat at home. I can't stand it when the plates of food touch uniforms, or napkin wrapped silver wear is carried up against the uniforms with menues used as a container.
Another time I was waiting in line to pay and one of the employes opened the door to the restroom and kicked the hand dryer on with his foot,on his way out, to make it look like he had dried his hands.

I wish you well in your new business and hope your employes use good hygiene

Would that make 1201 pizza places? I wish you luck.
I like the idea of an italian eatery feel. Of course it would be great if we had real Italian food as a choice in this community. Fazoli's is about as Italian, as Taco Bell is Mexican. I can tell you my one pet peeve about pizza that we get. I tend to like a deep dish or pan as long as the toppings are fresh, but it never fails. We get the pizza, the crust is doughy in the middle. Doesn't matter where its from but Pizza Hut tends to be the worst about it. The other thing, is if I'm gonna have a pepperoni pizza, I want more then 2 or 3 pieces on each slice. I also like pizza cut in squares especially a hand tossed crust. You ask any of the franchises to do that and they act like its a major inconvenience.

remember location, location, location. I think it is a smart move to do some market research first. Many people start businesses on a whim, I give you credit for looking into it first. i would be a little hesitant about starting up in this economy, however. Good luck in your venture, let us know when and where and I will give it a try.

Fatboys pizza opens in about 2 weeks in the building beside francis funiture. The owner previously owned tigers den in west liberty. So i assume it will taste similar to tigers den. The sign has been up for about 3 weeks now. I was a big fan of tigers den when he owned it, but it has gone down hill since, so i am looking foward to the new place.
Yes I can't wait until Fatboys Pizza opens!!! You are right since Keith sold the Tigers Den in W.L. it sucks!!!! I know my family will be glad to eat pizza from Keith again!!!:) Always very clean, nice, and comes up with good combinations for different pizzas. I wonder if he will have a buffett again? Can't wait!!!!

Oh, Oh, sounds like competition!!! But thats not neccessarily a bad thing. Competition keeps people on their toes and doing their best. We will also have some good combinations of pizzas, they are already in the works. I guess I should let you all know that I am not new to the pizza business. I own a place in another town but we are getting out of the franchise, doing our own thing and want to move to a bigger town. That's really all I can say about that right now. I have come up with my own recipes and people who have tried them like them better then the franchise recipes we currently serve. I like a lot of flavor and variety and it will show in my pizzas!!!!! I also make some awesome spagetti with homemade sauce and homemade meatballs too!I have a meatball sub that is to die for!!!!!!!

i think a good buffet is key, i hate to pay for a buffet and maybe get only 4 or 5 pizza slices, and in between slices waiting on a new pizza to come out, keep them coming and different, try new things but keep 1 or two "normal"
