Has anyone used Adipex? Any side effects? Good results? Any information would be appreciated. I've discussed it with my doctor but would like some actual experiences.

First of all, congratulations to Bluto, it sounds like you've nearly reached puberty. Anyway.....

I have been taking Adipex for almost a month now. While I agree that diet and exercise are the best options, I am an emotional/bored/celebratory eater that just needed a kickstart. To me, it feels like a switch literally gets flipped in my brain that allows me to limit what I eat, or not even eat at all. For the majority of this past month, my calorie consumption has been well under 1,000 calories/day, because I'm just not hungry. HIGHLY SUGGEST: Keep a journal. You can make it very basic with what time you take the pill, when you eat, what you eat, the cals. if you know, and how you felt that day. I thought this would be helpful info. for my doctor as well. I understand that you can only take it for 90 days and then you have to take a break. My hope is that I will be somewhat retrained by that time, and happy with my progress, so that I will continue to be motivated. I expect to find out that I've lost about 12 pounds when I go to my dr. appt. Side effects for me are dry mouth and slight dehydration, so drink plenty of water. Overall, I would definitely recommend Adipex to help get you motivated. When can you ever say you lost over 10 pounds during Thanksgiving? So I'm hopeful for the same through Christmas........ Good Luck!

It really confuses me as to why people that have NOTHING whatsoever to add to a conversation, especially one that is asking for specific experience regarding a subject, chirp in just to "hear" themselves. Feel free to move on to a forum that wants your useless opinion. You really are prime examples of why people consider Topix to be so trashy.

No good. Adipex causes problems without you realizing it. And you can get addicted to it. I thought Ohio outlawed it a few years ago. Coming from someone who has struggled with addiction, I would recommend you trying something else. Be careful please.

Thank you for your input. I have a question for you: I have heard that the affect sort of wears off over time. When you stop taking it at 90 days, is it tapered off and are there any side affects from not taking it?

Thanks so much.

Minor physical withdrawals. Psychological withdrawals can be bad. Yes they'll go away over time. Baseball players used to use it in place of amphetamines cause it used to be legal everywhere. But it caused heart attacks. I wouldn't mess with it.

Honestly, it is psychological . I have taken it on two different occasions. The first month, yes, I did lose weight but it was because I knew I was taking a "diet" pill and for whatever reason, it was motivating. Then the second month, it starts wearing off. It is too expensive. Insurance doesn't pay for it. You have to see the doctor each month...not worth it. Eating right and exercise is your only option.

You can only take 3 month at a time. Then you have to wait 6 month. I lost 60 lb on it.

Not if you go to Kentucky. The laws there aren't as strict as Ohio's.
