BL had a winning season in 2007-08 and several very competitive teams when Coach McPheron was there in the mid 2000's. They actually defeated the Chiefs in the 07-08 season although that was only the second time ever as well as beating Kenton Ridge for the only time in school history.

Indian Lake's basketball coach, Tuttle, is terrible. So is the reserve coach. They run the same drills every practice that has nothing to do with game situations or team weaknesses. They do not know what to do. They are last in almost every catagory in the league standings for the 2nd straight yr. The 2 yr record at the Lake is 5-33 so far for the varsity and 1-37 for the JV. Prior to this Tuttle's record at Ridgemont was 15-102. Ridgemont never finished above next to last in his tenure there, actually finished last most years. The blame from Tuttle and the AD is that it is the players and parents attitudes. They must have had a huge turnover at Ridgemont due to Ridgemont winning thier league title the 2nd yr after Tuttle left.
The worst part of this is the kids are getting cheated by the AD and coaches. I believe the football program has had 2 winning seasons in 15 yrs. Doesn't the AD have a fudiciary responsibility to fill the seats and help relieve expenses from parents and school area taxpayers? If you can build a program at Kenton, you can build one at the Lake. The AD says it is not about winning, then if so, it is about building character. I cannot see any character achievement from Tuttle due to calling the boys p..sy's, losers, mental midgets and constant brow beating because they are not doing what he never teaches. This team NEVER goes 5 on 5 in practice.
We are adults and can take unfairness but it is our responsibility to the kids to allow them the best experiences possible. How can this continue? The record and stats alone are enuff to kick him out of being a BB coach for a lifetime let alone the brow beating and name calling that a grown man (Tuttle)is delivering to 15-18 yr old boys. It is morally inept. He has to go. The AD wants to keep him due to only having 2 yrs to retire and not wanting to disrupt their good old boy system. I see it that the AD has 2 more yrs to work and should do his job (at a reported $70K/yr). I would hate to leave a program with this legacy. Pointing fingers at others is the lazy way out. We, as school supporters, should not be lazy and not let this continue. We need to take action.

If you take the time to compile the statics of success, do you care enough to help them, lend a hand, share your broad wealth of knowledge?

If not, don't you feel guilty throwing spears at them from the right side of the third row in the stands.

You either never played the game, or played and the coaches kept you from reaching your potential as the leading scorer on the JV team as a Senior.

What is JMTCW?

They have to want to accept the help and the staff is close minded to help. We have tried. At this point he needs to stand on his own since it is only he who he listens to.

I did play at a higher level and started Varsity my Soph yr at the Lake and was captain my Sr yr. I have also worked with many kids in individual sessions teaching bb fundamentals and have been affilited with winning programs. These are not spears but facts and as I stated am willing to do the work to change the program.

Now you have made assumptions based on 0 facts and extremely limited knowledge. You sound like you are a part of this administration, they are the only ones who react this way and support what is going on.

Just my two sense worth

I would rather see you coaching the kids than trashing people anonymously on topix. Basketball has changed since the 80's. At least sign your name or people like me might doubt your courage. You sound like a whining wannabee to me. JMHO

BTW what does "affilited " mean?
Just asking.

Yea, why pay attention to the facts, I'm just a whining wannabe. So go away and ignore me. Since you began without a foundation of anything but trying to ridicule, I do not care about your opinion. I feel like I am in Oz. My lack of courage and your lack of brains. I am pretty sure the lack of heart is near you also.

You seem to know when I played and where I sit so why are you asking who I am. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. I am pretty sure who you are "afilliated" with. The support for this program is very, very small. Understand you must protect family but be real. The kids are suffering. They are the only reason for having a program. The life long record and stats of the coach show a lack of teaching or getting through to the kids and a grown man calling kids derogatory names is just not right. How is anything positive being taught here?

If you dont like it apply for the job, its that simple.Who else is out there that you would want? Chad Mossing back? Oh thats right we didnt like him either!

It looks like the 04-05, 05-06, 06-07, and 07-08 teams were quite competitive. A team doesn't have to go 19-1 before they're "competitive." BTW, Ben Logan hasn't won many basketball championships over it's entire history, but they have been competitive over the years. Certainly the early 2000's were not very successful and the same can be said for the 08-09, 09-10, and 10-11 teams. This years team while not having a winning record has been competitive in many of its games. Also, don't forget that for much of its history BL was a member of the old WCOC when it was twice the size(or more) of the other league schools(except IL).

The coach at Ben Logan has done an outstanding job in two years there, they swept the bottom half of that league and had Urbana and Graham on the ropes this year. They played my Cheifs tight at there place, saw them in their tourny game and played well dispite losing by over 30 the 4th or 5th game of the season. would probably put him behind Cupps in terms of coaching in the mad river division but they are going in the right direction.Trust me, they will hang on to this guy if he chooses to stay there.

I do know that if a student changes schools within the district, and does not change their address, they have to wait one year to play athletics at the school they have transfered to.
This is a new policy, and will go into effect this august.

Wowie, you are clueless,Varsity players that cant make lay ups is the coaches fault? Do you want him to make them for them? These players have never won and are winning more than ever at all levels? The freshman player you are talking about is by far the best frosh on the team, maybe tell yourself or your son to get better and quit blaming everyone else. The coach isnt from this area and didnt know the A.D,and how many practices have you been at? Zero? thats what i figured, hope you or your child continues to improve his game and someday gets on the floor!
Seems to me you don't have a clue what your taling about. My son plays every game and is a starter, he does apply himself but when you have a coach calling you names day in and day out and you are lifting 3 days a week for 3/4 of the practice and can't win a game, something is wrong!!! They have the talent but they need good coaching. By the way, no one is blaming the coaches for the kids not making their lay ups however, you have to be doing those in practice in order to get better. If I was you I wouldn't talk when you have no clue what goes on!!!
