Please refresh my memory, but I never knew that Super Foods was in that building. As far back as I can remember the former occupant was SILCO, or Standard Overall as everyone else called it. Did Super Foods occupy it after that?

The owner got lots of grant money to open and run the business because of the disabled people that are hired to work there, So that money alone might keep them in business for a while i bet.
If the grants you speak of are from the stimulus, then according to the examiner, she didn't recieve any. applied for, but didn't recieve.

Her grant money came from the state for employing MRDD clients. NOT from the stimulus.

Myself I think Chattan Loch is an overpriced, dressed up bob evans. The things they have on their menu (for lunch) are most of the same.... excluding the fact that they have added a few "uncommon" ingredients for example, dijon, aioul, raceltte cheese, and so on... and they dont use these ingredients accordingly. I think the service there was horrible!! I know they employee people who have developmental issues, which I think is great!! Its great to employee the people who are normally turned away for unfair reasons,ALTHOUGH.... my party had a developmentally FINE person who strutted her stuff like no other. She took forever to get to our table...almost thrity minutes actually, then we ordered our drinks and our meal at the same time, ultimately because we had 30 minutes to look at the menu, and we didnt recieve our drinks for another 15 minutes, and our food 30 minutes later! So all in all we waited almost an hour to get our food. I also ordered a glas of wine which was 1/8 the size of a normal glass of wine anywhere and paid 10 dollars!!! That is ridiculous! The pulled pork sandwich tasted like mustard, the soup was warm,(after waiting another 15 minutes) maybe they let it sit under a heating light to warm it... We also had what i would think was a "busser" hovering over our table asking us if we were done.... staring at us waiting for a response and finally recieved one and then replied "huh?" like she was not paying attention but instead staring at us eat

ugh... the decor was fabulous.... that is the only positive thing i can say... also...$2.00 for a cup or should i say a "double shot" of coffee.....

I think its crap...the entire thing...

I would reccomend not going...disgusting food, horrible service.... great IDEA is the key word...

critical - what do you mean by "they don't use those ingredients accordingly?" Can you give an example of a dish with an ingredient you would use differently?

I'm wondering if the experience you had was due to it just opening, as they work things out early on.

I've been there twice for lunch. Thought the food was GREAT, I REALLY enjoy the creative way of doing different ingredients. The service and wait time is an issue but the owner is very conscious of this and welcomes comments AND constructive criticism. She is trying to find the best way to provide training for her "challanged" staff while providing quality service.

I hope you all give it an open minded chance. And no, while I know the owner professionally, I am not a relative, staff, nor investor. Just someone who thinks this is a great opportunity for many disabled individuals as well as having a nice dining experience.

My two cents.

Obvisouly those of us that live out in the boonies have no choice but to either use AOL or Hughes Net and I can not justify spending $100.00 a month for internet.
If you have a land line - or not - couldn't you go through WCOIL out of Lima? They give a good deal -less than $20/month -for prepay with the dial up system. You might want to at least check that out.

Chattan Loch is a WONDERFUL addition to the Greater Logan County area in my opinion. Not only do they hire those with special needs, they also are supporting the local economy by trying to purchase as much as possible from other local businesses. This does affect the pricing, as it would be cheaper for them to utilize GFS and Sam's for all their dining and supply needs; however, they are working hard to purchase their cheeses from local businesses, as well as their fish from the place in Urbana, for just two examples. Keeping money in the greater Logan County area is also important to the owner and those involved, which again, will affect pricing. Keep in mind, if you go for a nice dinner in Columbus, many people are willing to drop $50-$100. This is a fine dining experience that is NOT a chain that you can get without driving an hour, don't YOU want to support the local economy?

I can not wait to go there.. You are so right about dropping that kind of money at an out of town chain. For us to take our three boys to Red Slobber we spend about $100 and drive 40 mins. So we will give them a try and see how it goes. Really do hope it makes a go of it.

I'm confused as to why my comment was judged racy and clueless? Can someone with more Topix experience explain what that means? I was just trying to provide insight for those who care, not critique anything that has been said prior. Interesting....

I heard it's cost and arm and leg to go in there, and the food sucked. I have not been there just what I heard.
