wow.. i just realized my type-o.. that's sad.. and the surprising thing is that no one corrected me.. hahaha...

this should read "and about 1/2 of a pack of finely crumbled ritz crackers."

sorry, i was reading through some of the other recipes, and when i saw my mistake here, it kind of bothered me. but i'm going to have to try some of these recipes, they all sound really good!! hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I still say, just shread the chicken and hit it with some salt.
Which brings up a great comment from my grand daughter, staring down at some "cassarole", she asked, "so, just what is scallop?"
"is the scallop in corn, the same as scallop in potatoes or chicken?"

Thanks, it went over well with my family.

Although SOMETHING was missing, I couldn't put my finger on it.

My mother told me the key to good Shredded Chicken is BUTTER while slow cooking it in the crockpot,..

So everyone, add butter to your Shredded Chicken!

I used to just use Sweet Sue boned chicken and crm of chicken soup and everyone loved it but the problem was it was too runny until after it was refrigerated a while. I didn't like the way it tasted adding cracker crumbs. Then I tried using the stove top stuffing. That recipe also called for sour cream and even though we all like sour cream i wasn't crazy about it in this. I think I'll leave that out next time and just do the chicken, soup and stove top...no need for salt and for ME to say that it's true!

My recipe goes like this:

2 Cups shredded chicken (I cook down chicken breast, bone in;)
1 can cream of chicken soup
About 1/2 sleeve ritz or other similar cracker, crushed finely
chicken broth, add enough to keep chicken a good consistency.

Add all to crock pot (the little crock pots work great!) let cook a couple of hours, check and add broth and/or crackers to get the right flavor consistency.

This will make 6-7 normal size sandwiches.

I drive up to the speaker outside of Dairy Queen and when they ask me "May I hepp yew?", I say "I want a shredded chicken sandwich with relish, please." Then she tells me how much it is and then I pull up to the window, give her my money, then she hands me change if I have any coming back and then she hands me a sack that smells soooo good and while driving out I rip open the sack and take the sandwich out and peel the wrapper back and take a bite and ohhhhh, delicious!!!!

No muss, no fuss, let somebody else do the work.

I usually smash up a roll or two of ritz crackers and add them to my shredded chicken sandwich mix in the crock pot. It is yummy!!!

again, the best used to be the Dairy Isle, or Dairy Bar in Belle Center, when Johnny Crawford ran it.
Today, probably the Dairy King on S. Main,
maybe Orphan Annie's in Dee-Graff,
usally "Mom & Pop" operations,
maybe "Kevin's" at the Lake,
or the lunch wagon that goes around to auctions,
can't remember his name; he's from Dee-Graff or
Quin-tuckee.

Lucky You!! You must be thin as a rail. I like all that stuff, especially butter pecan ice cream.
I'll take mustard on my very occasional hot dog, no ketchup, and absolutely no mayo on a hot meat sandwich, OK on lunchmeat.

I like good shredded chicken. I do like meatloaf, but I don't want it to taste like baked hamburger, so there is a trick to that...Hubby doesn't like shredded chicken, potato soup, scalloped potatoes or scalloped corn. He doesn't even like hashbrowns. He doesn't like ketchup on his hot dogs either and he doesn't like brats or most sausage. Now, I do like nuts in my brownies and my chocolate chip cookies. I don't like nuts in my ice cream nor do I like chocolate chips in my ice cream. I hate rippled chips. I don't like raisins unless they are in raisin bran. I don't like dill pickles unless they are on grilled cheese. Can't do green olives at all, and black ones only if they are in mexican food or on pizza or subs. My kids used to put them on the tips of their fingers and walk around wiggling them saying look at my pingers..I got pingers. Bugles can be pingers too. I don't like cheese, unless it is grilled cheese or on pizza or subs. Bllllaaaahhhh. You are just an individual... Oh yeah, here is to un-American...gawd, I can't stand apple pie...yuck, yuck, yuck.

OMG I absolutely love, love, love, love, butter pecan ice cream....you just have to pick all of the nuts out of it first, lol. Drives hubby crazy...I don't get it, but if I do, then I suck all the ice cream off of it, and spit the nuts into the bowl. Oh yeah, I hate peanut M&M's...What were they thinking...no crunchy peanut butter for me...but give me a nut cracker, a nut pick and a bowl of nuts, and I'm a happy gal, well could be, if I could get the shells cracked. lol.
